Resident Evil Revelations 2 – Better Than You Remember

Evolution sometimes has its dead ends, and one of the most unfortunate of those in the Resident Evil universe was the Revelations series, which started out with a neat idea and actually made good on it with Revelations 2 before it was unfortunately cancelled. So strap on your nostalgia goggles and join me for this journey back into the world of Resident Evil.

  1. Alex Wesker had to be the most underwhelming boss in the franchise. If I were developing this, I’d do away with that live forever thing and make Alex go after Claire as retribution to Chris for killing her brother, eye for an eye, sibling for a sibling. I wouldn’t have killed her off so quickly, I could see a future with Redfield vs Wesker 2.0

  2. im a hardcore RE fangirl, and i absolutely despise revelations 2. i appreciate the somewhat return to limited resources but the game still expects you to be a one man army, now with less resources. but thats not what i hate this game. the setting is lame, the story is dumb, and aside from dabby husbando barry, i couldnt care for any of the characters.

  3. This is such an under appreciated RE game and I'm happy see it get some love! I keep hoping to see a follow up with Natalia/Alex who at this point in the timeline would be an adult(again). It would be awesome to see another Wesker menace show their face in future RE games.

  4. I will always find the revelations games mediocre I really hate the generic character designs.jill doesn't look like jill but Claire takes the cake of having the ugliest face in re.myra Karen hairstyle makes me hate her lmaoo petty I know smh.it was ok but I could care less,if I wasn't a nerd for lore I would have skipped it but I'm a dork

  5. Resident Evil 5 (the lost in nightmares DLC if I remember) actually mentions Wesker's sister in one note (when talking about the project that created wesker). They're not related by blood, but they are siblings in terms that they were both (among others) subject of the same experiment.
That said, Revelations 2 was my favorite RE game before the RE engine games released, and part of me was always sad that RE 5 and 6 didn't play like this game, especially since you face RE5 and 6 enemies with the exact same movesets in raid mode in Rev2)

  6. I really liked Revelations 2. In fact, I loved it so much i played it as the new episodes released when it first launched. If you didn't play this game at launch you probably don't realize it's an episodic game that released incrementally. It was a nice change. Anyway, having (spoilers) Weskers sister as the final boss was a pretty awesome twist. The extra episodes were also fun. I wish they made a RER3

  7. For years and years after playing the original game, i thought that barry says "jiffel sandwich". Wasnt til years later and it became cemented in history i realised it was just "jill sandwich". Then i was like "oh yea that makes way more sense" 😂

  8. I got Revelations 1 and 2 at some point (years after release) on a sale. And I have to say: 2 is better than 1. 1 was fine for that price, 2 was actually pretty good

  9. Revelations 2 is great and shouldnt be considered a side story. Its more of a mainline RE game than RE6 was.
Revelations 1 is bizarre and doesnt feel like its set in the same universe.
