  1. I love Outbreak. I play it in PS2 and yeah it's very hard for me when i was young lol. And now i play it again with Emulator and it can play online with my friend it's really good. I hope Capcom remaster or remake Outbreak.

  2. I just don’t get why they don’t just make Outbreak either file 3 or just remaster the first two. I love the outbreak series because of the gameplay, story and variety of likable characters to use. Even though I’ve never tried online in outbreak back then I always get that sense of eerie when you’re by yourself which makes it much better. Honestly no one asked for these horrible RE online knock offs that fail to do what Outbreak does better. RE resistance imo the only good thing was the environments but it’s sad they have to slap it in with RE3make…I just hope they’ll make Outbreak again its just all we want from them but not sure if it will happen…😔

  3. Believe it or not this was the first way I experienced Resident Evil, though I didn't have access to online at the time. So glad you went in depth on this side series

  4. man, every time i hear about resistance i just get upset. even if it doesn't really replicate the outbreak idea, i think the game would've done very well if it was sold separately and updated frequently it could've been a really solid competitor to dead by daylight. especially when people of that community are looking for something else in the asymmetrical genre, it would've done so well. they definitely should give it that idea another shot/sequel attempt and not go on the re:verse route, RE community doesn't want that kind of pvp.

  5. I've never had any interest in Outbreak as a lifetime Resident Evil Fan, but if they had bothered to make a gosh darned PC port for their online game I probably would have convinced friends to play with me on several occasions over the years. We did just that for Operation Raccoon City as recently as 2019 despite the obtrusive Windows Live connectivity that is forever baked in to the game. Heck I think even in 2003, I knew more kids growing up who gamed on their PC than owned or ever heard of an ethernet adapter for our PS2.

That said, it's a shame that Resistance didn't pan out as the Outbreak successor it could have been. Maybe have the 4v1 mode be a competitive side mode where you can take your progression earned from the main campaign online. Now that we know the leak was intentional, the tepid response to it in that lone GameFAQS thread may be to blame for it's shift away from the Outbreak mold. I don't know what prompted Capcom to go on this years long pilgrimage of trying to make online cooperative/competitive Resident Evil games, but if there was just a bit more focus on quality than quantity and longer post-launch support, they could probably have brought in better sales overall. Resident Evil is doing bigger numbers now than it ever has, so it would have been a lucrative time to have a multiplayer game like Resistance still getting updates and pulling in new players every time a new single player entry gets released. We would all be playing that Castle Dimitrescu stage.

  6. If they was to ever do a remake of outbreak I would genuinely hope they keep the base goal in mind which would be to get the characters through the map without dying or turning into a zombie while also telling an interesting story, this game has a ridiculous amount of potential if Capcom would just use that potential

  7. I loved RE Resistance. Hell, I still love it. It’s RE, it’s challenging, it’s nuanced, and the gameplay loop is satisfying. It has issues but I’m glad we got it. I’m saying all of this as an RE original recipe lover.
