That look ann gives and naomi watts brilliantly gives as the actress is awesome! she is so conflicted. she loves kong so much, and she loves how much she is loved, and she loves the action and the activity she gets with him, and his actually very charming and manly instincts for her and his go getter attitude and alpha male dynamics he has with her and so much primal triggers hit. and then there is jack, who cant string a sentence together, never tells ann outright he likes her, is a bit of a nice guy, not nearly as many primal triggers hit. but he is logically good, and he is civilization, and actual lasting love for the reality of their world. kong is not even human, cant even give her a family, is literally dying as a species and offers her and her family no future. but her primal switches to have small family feelings with a top predator man thing like kong are so powerful. this is partly a fun fictional movie, partly a scientific movie. this is real science.
I'm not surprised that Kong tries to attack Jack considering that he was trying to take Ann away from him.
