Rescuing 2 dead vans from London

In this video we channel our inner Vice Grip Garage and Junk Yard Digs and join our friend mobile mechanic Kris Smith to find a pair of vans abandoned in a London car park since Lock Down 3 years ago? Will the start? Have apocalypse movies lied to us?

  1. Ford's biggest mistake ending the production of the Fiesta, but Vauxhall will scoop the buyers up with the Corsa I think. Great video Matt, I guess it did help with them both kept in the dry and our of the sun's rays.

  2. I had an 09 Fiesta tdci that had done 213k when I had done with it. Same thing it was fully loaded. You can easily fit cruise control to them as well! The bodies and interiors wear really well on them so not surprised by the milage.

  3. Loving your channel – great content and well put together – and nice to see cars being kept alive in this throw-away age!

"yeah, the lights work … this van has everything" … best to set your expectations low when you love Rovers! ;-D

If you do buy the Fiesta can off Chris, can you make a video on removing the sign-writing and polishing it back to shiny paintwork? Or does that require a re-spray?

  4. You and Chris were lucky both vans were under 3.5 tonnes … I had a Y reg Iveco Daily chassis cab that I was 'custodian' of at work a few years ago. I had to get a battery isolator fitted as the tacho chart motor ran the battery flat in under 2 weeks! We didn't use it often, so it was regularly more than 6 weeks between starts … never had a problem starting it after the isolator was fitted though

  5. My mums partner had two of the previous generation mk6 Fiesta van with the 1.4 TDCi very economical and reliable they were before DPFs (both 2005 models) so not surprised that Fiesta is tidy as came in, we drove from St Helens to Beckton (before ULEZ was expended) and back on half a tank with 4 big alloys in the back for his boss, great if you need a cheap car based van as long as emissions aren't a problem.

  6. Fleet stuff that has to run every day , can rack up big miles and be reliable are the vehicles to buy after they're out of their lease period.
Fords , Mercs, Fiat, VW and a few others do the job with no fuss and minimal down time.
Apart from their extortionate prices, that's why you rarely or never see Land Rover products in that role.
