There are few jobs more stressful, dangerous, and exciting than being a firefighter-especially for the members of Chicago’s Fire Station 51 Emergency Response Team. Americans see them as heroes. Whenever there’s an emergency, everyone else rushes out the door, but these brave and fearless men and women rush into the most dangerous places without hesitation. Every day they have to deal with death, every day they have to make the most important choices at the most stressful times, every day they have to face the test of self-esteem and self-importance, and the responsibility and pressure of the job have taken such a toll on their character that conflicts among the members seem inevitable.

  1. All these firefighters and EMS shows keep leaving out a huge element. Law enforcement is usually on most scenes before any of them. When producers start getting that, maybe then the shows will be good.

  2. It’s literally for situations like this that do not happen. They get their first assess the situation and say what’s actually needed. They also make sure if it was a shooting or anything like that there’s nothing harmful that will stop the EMS and firefighters. That’s why there’s a police officer always on scene beforehand.

  3. Boots on the ground surrogates. Even some of these financial channels that are arguing for this, it is the greatest level of insanity because it is so self-destructive, a plan implemented into policy like that, would you destroy an economy.
