Replacing conventional vehicles with electrical and hydrogen is 'talking billions'

Geological Survey of Finland Professor Simon Michaux says replacing vehicles on the road with electrical and hydrogen fuel cell cars is “talking billions” in costs.

“It depends on are we going to replace the existing system or not if we were, there is 1.4 billion vehicles estimated in the 2018 vehicle fleet,” Mr Michaux told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“If we were to replace all them … we’re talking billions, certainly hundreds of millions.”

  1. The 'Green Goblin Agenda' doing what it intends to do for those greedy global capitalist investors bank balance $$$$$$£££££££ ……..and the idiots who push a political ideology upon the masses to further their career agendas ….look up ULEZ in London UK being pushed to expansion so the tyrannical mayor , sadiq khan, gets another term in office…….I blame the governments who 'listened' to Greta and those who exploit her.

  2. Will just remind you chris that Snowy 2.0 was a project of the Liberal Party. SKY relies on the ignorance of its audience to get away with blaming Labor for a Liberal project. The idea is to pile on endless negative stories about the Labor Party., whether they are true or not.

  3. The "Reds" pushing their Green Scam! Have you been Scammed today?
Humans produce 3.5% of the Carbon Dioxide.
Australia Produces 1.6% of that total of 3.5%! So what %%age is that in the total Carbon Dioxide which is produced!? Where can you measure a number that small? in a lab!

  4. yeah, EV's are so exciting to me!!! I have seen a few around. it seems to me, EV's are for people who never travel more than 200 miles on a trip, or vacation in the family car (remember: you can't keep a $5 can of electricity in the boot of your car)! the resale value is next to NOTHING for thinking people (kinda like buying a yacht and pouring money into it year after year, and finding after the batteries have run down, IT HAS NO RESALE VALUE)!!! there is an 'Ol saying about boats: 'a boat is a hole in the lake, that you throw money in'. and get this! when the outdoor temperature falls below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it loses 40% of its efficiency! in other words, the 214 miles you were able to drive before a 'fill up' or 'recharge', becomes 'a tick' over 100 miles distance! yeah, EV's seem only practical for those who are able to purchase a car EVERY 5 years, with no 'trade in' value.

  6. But LNP started and budgeted on that project. Now Bowen's got to clean up the mess. 2050 a long way off, when $12 billion a year from taxpayers purse goes into fossil fuels. At least the miners will have more work, there is your employment opportunity.

  7. No problem. There will be enough minerals for Klaus Schwab's and Bill Gates entourage. If you think the rest of us are going to have cars I think you are a little too optimistic.

  8. The lack and astronomical cost of the required mined minerals makes net zero carbon impossible. Hundreds of new mines would be needed which would cost trillions, not billions, and due to much lower mined mineral yields, the cost of these minerals would be 2 or 3 times more.

  9. hydrogen cars are rubbish and wont sell for many reasons.
also please stop crying about EVs.
they are coming because they are better and people want them.
once you accept that maybe then you can stop spreading your BS but i doubt it.

  10. Net zero is truly scams and makes people paying more for various EP products. E.g. when politicians debates and farts in parliament are already emitting carbon and methane. How can it be zero?!

  11. Ask any electrical engineer about Electric Vehicles and the power demands of charging them!! Their answer is universal.. we do not have the electrical power requirements to do it!! Worse.. as the person said above.. how do we get all the raw metals, minerals and chemicals?? If it is not clear there will be the rich upper class who have an EV and the rest of us will be locked in 15 Minute Cities where we will use pushbikes or be made to walk!! I also foresee a time where we are made to go parts of our day with the power grids turned off while the same rich upper class will go without nothing!! Often our science fiction because science fact and look at a movie called Elysium.. that is the class system we can expect from the 'haves' and 'have-nots' in a very short time frame.. but that is the expectation with 'the great reset' and 'you will own nothing and you will be happy' but also with 'forced euthanasia of the elderly or defective' which is being looked at as I type this in many Asian Countries!! If we are to accomplish any of what we have been told we need to do by 2045-2050 we need a new and much cleaner form of powering our society and world for all to gain from and not just a certain class!!

  12. compare China's CO2 with Australia's then ask Bowen and Bandt the question why are they in any hurrry at such great cost when there are affordable housing shortages across Australia which is surely more important to socialists than making billlonairs out of climate change fanaticsm

  13. CO2 is sustenance for 90% of all life on this planet. The waste products of green energy kills anything it touches. Once enough old batteries are 'disposed of' there will be no water safe to drink.

  14. The countries causing the most pollution are 2nd and 3rd world countries, do you really think they give a shit? No, because they're poor. Australia doesn't need this greeny pushing BS.
