I mean, my mother destroyed her life and walked out on her family due to her opiate addiction, which has been proven to be less safe than we were told. Can we remove opiates with this same opinion?
I love Katie Porter. Messiness of Polictics That's an understatement.
The big picture of history clearly shows the whole point of conservatism is to eliminate opportunities for the majority of humanity so their default is submitting to exploitation by the top caste system tier. Cons will never back anything that promotes opportunity for the majority, Note how their exploitative tax-dodging religions always align themselves with the wealthy elite power structures the next time they push their morality virtue signals on you.
I personally see anticonception as a better option than abortion and consider a huge loss that the dialog ignores this option and the need to make knowledge and anti-conceptive methods and pills more easily available. I strongly believe that my views are just that and should not be imposed to others. Seeing many using the government and laws to impose their personal and religious beliefs on others is cruel, irresponsible and definitely not what the government should be prioritizing. The same people who oppose abortion (at least politicians) are also against social safety net legislations and do not do anything to help improve healthcare (for all), pre-natal assistance, better adoption processes and assistance to orphans. Isn't that cruel? They care about fetuses more than they care about children and mothers.

I am a charter donor to Katie Porter's campaign for all the reasons she brings to the table. she is smart, not afraid to press for change, and fearless in her style. We NEED that in the senate. and we need as many women running our government as we can elect. I urge anyone who can to become a regular donor to her campaign, even if you don't live in California.
