Renton teen accused in shooting death of 15-year-old held on $1 million bond

The teenager accused in the weekend shooting death of a 15-year-old in Renton will stay behind bars, for now.

The suspected shooter on Monday faced a judge who found probable cause for manslaughter and illegal possession of a firearm charge.

The 16-year-old is being held on a $1 million bond, the judge said, because electronic home monitoring was not appropriate, and she was not convinced he would follow those conditions of release, based on his history.

  1. These "kids" are committing adult crimes. They should be charged and held like adults. Juvenile records should stay open until they're 21. So many turn 18 and commit a crime and their whole Juvenile record has been sealed. If they can make it to 21 and not commit a crime … Then the Juvenile record can be sealed.

  3. Maybe people should learn to mind their own business. If you see someone being robbed at gunpoint and decide to "intervene", whatever happens to you is YOUR result. JFC, even banks with millions at stake know enough to train their employees that if you're robbed you just GIVE them the money and call the pigs. We DO have a hyper militarized terrorist police force in this country, let them use their aggression against ACTUAL criminals instead of the general public for once. Sorry, but this dude's just not that bright, and kind of a crybaby.

  4. And I am sure someone will say its the guns fault and we need stricter this and stricter that blah blah blah. Start holding them accountable for the actions the first time, and not a slap on the wrist

  5. This is why vigilantes exist. Pretty sure there will be a resurgence of them in the coming years. When the government fails the people, the people have no choice but to deal with the situations themselves.
