  1. There's a really good chance we could chart with tthis one! This would be the first time in history a song about M.E and lyme disease would make the top 40 which would be huge for awareness. Moments like this are pinch me moments and make me feel good about keeping the promise to my younger self. That's because of all you guys so thankyou so much!!

If you wana help secure that spot you can download Troubles on all platforms by following the link below
    Let's go!!!

First official release of the year!

    https://renmakesmusic.lnk.to/troubles

Heres the lyrics for anyone who wants them

I don't reach into the past very much for these shards of shattered glass and harsh paper cuts,
leave me stuck when I reach in, memories are seaped in hydrochloric acid, I go to war and get passive and freeze up,
But music helped the ice to thaw,
put a chizzel in the middle swing the hammer of Thor
pull it out of the impossible,
    Excalibur sword
etching note pads full of reasons why my feelings are sore
The first day that I got sick ejected from cock pit of living
Ninteen ,young teen, waking up Bitten
posters up, man hunt, Ren went missing
Hard to have faith when the gods don't listen
The first year maybe was the hardest
Waking in a body that was buried like a carcass
    Brain in the lions den
    Body in a sharkpit
    Waking up in pain again
    Aching broken hearted
Persistent little bugger I was bouncing from a doctor to a doctor to a doctor like a table tennis game that has no end
So be the fate of Ren
Every single question asnwered with a question on the end
The second year I came to terms with giving up my dreams mind severed from the means that helped me write these rhyme schemes
    brain was inflamed
    The fatigue was Crushing
Hard to remain sane with your brain combusting
And the third year was murder
Living in a purga-tory full of worry wouldn't live to be thirty
    Life style style hurt me
    Always in my bed tomb
Re-arrange the alphabet and all the letters spell doom
    Light hurt my eyes
    Popping pills to survive
When you're 23 and mentally you steadily decline
24 I was poor disability benefits
What's the benefit of disability it's irrelevant
25 and the scars that were etched…
    they cracked
Elastic bands only stretch so far and then snap
    Deep in phsycosis
    hallucinations, troubled vision
Visits from the underworld were conjuring my Superstition
25, living back at home with my mum
But not because I'm a bum
    Alone and physically done
So thin, so frail, so week I'd become
And my skin so pale, never kissed by the sun
One time I carved a whole in my chest, just to feel
I wish that was a metaphor, the struggle was real
When you're living in a holocaust you buckle and kneel
There's relief in the teeth of the kiss of cold steel
    Facts
26 im highly medicated and the pain sophisticated while im laying broke and naked on my back
I brought my microphone into my Coffin, started droppin raw thoughts with the grim reaper knocking on the track
    Then man, lo and behold
I heard an angel beckon on this treacherous road
Was a stem cell doctor with a generous glow
And a cell transplant brought Me out of the Cold
    And my body got stronger
    And my skin got younger
And my stomach felt hunger for a door that was closed
And my soul heard music for the first time
Beauty was a word I'd use for this gift of gold
    Oh lord I forgive you
    Lord I forgive you
    Lord I forgive you
    Make me whole
    This music I give you
    Pain that I live through
    Everything I been through
    Is yours to hold

  2. Excellent. I'm surprised Ren isn't being called upon to sing alongside folks like JZ, Kanye West, or Eminem. He's already on the big stage on youtube and in the UK, but c'mon, it's his time to shine on the big stages throughout the USA. Get his music in a few movies.

  3. You're not alone brother. I walk those same steps, still walking down that same crooked path looking for help..hope, but found nothing or anyone who could ever offer help.
I had it all….and then this illness came and it took Everything!

I begged God for healing. I begged God for mercy. I begged him for death. What he gave me was another day…and then another one. 3,285 days later I'm still here and im still fighting.
Most importantly, he brought me to your music.
So I've made my own trail through the damn dark forest covered in brambles and spikes. I trip, fumble and fall down often. I look up at the dark canopy and pray to God, "Lord, help me find the strength to get back up."
The devil in my thoughts telling me "stay down stupid girl" but I do not listen.
I use what little energy I have to push further, step by step, day by day.
I am not weak, I am savage. I do not fear death, I allow him to walk by my side.
I will not surrender. I will not succumb.
And when I make it out of this madness, I will shout my testimony to the world.

Thank you Ren for sharing your story with the world. The pain, the exhaustion, the insomnia, the brain turning into a piece of shit and the endless years of seeking out medical help with nothing and no one who can help.

Your still pushing and it helps me keep pushing. Thank you brother.❤

  4. Ren, thank you. As spending half of my life ill (and I still am with no diagnosis as of yet) and of the wife of a man and musician who has suffered with ME/CFS for half of his life (and who still does. But, as of 4 years ago, now with added FND, making half of his body paralysed so unable to do what you can; bury himself with a guitar or keyboard and play the music he once lived to make). I want to say thank you for bringing more attention to this. We're in our early 30's and…Just…thank you, from here in your UK.

  5. The truth of this burned through me. Autoimmune diseases just produce eyerolls from GP's. I never speak about my own illnesses, but I will here. Fibro since the mid 90's and a doozy of a autoimmune illness called Antiphospholipid Syndrome. Now that one can actually kill me. Its already caused me to have a cerebellar stroke. The usual symptoms, we all know, fatique, weakness, pain, poor balance, headaches, heart palpitations, chest pain breathlesness. What was I offered for this array of symptoms? Ha ha, yep, you guessed it..Sertraline. An antidepressant. I refused, so I have NO meds from anywhere to help the symptoms, apart from a Blood thinner, to cut the risk of another stroke. The state of Autoimmune disease budgets and plans for treatment in this Country is practically non existent. Its an actual Natioal disgrace. Thank you Ren, for sharing your experience and giving a voice to so many others.

  7. hi Ren, i don't mean to be one of those people but… i have MS recently diagnosed. i am a guitarist, not in a band but it is my escape. due to it, i have lost dexterity and cannot do the thing i love the most. which is making my own music. it has destroyed me but luckily i am quite a positive thinker and don't let my condition make me who i am.

i love the message you bring! peace!!!

  8. This is amazing. I’ve been listening to your music for a while now and I really hope you get your flowers for all of your work ❤️

I’m currently seeing a wonderful Rheumatologist trying to figure out what’s going on in my body. Being treated for fibromyalgia, tested for RA, just hoping it’s not a host of other autoimmunes. A lot of people don’t understand the physical pain every day is, but there are good days that are so bittersweet- all we can do is bask in those moments ❤️ so looking forward to your next album ❤️

  9. I watched you tell your story each day. I felt your pain. I do hope that the world will take notice and help. I've lost so many. I find myself falling since my whole family died, not by old age but different illnesses. I'm trying so hard to keep it together as I just lost my brother and my mom. You're an inspiration. Thank you, Ren ❤

  10. As always, phenomenal job. About 9 years ago I was finally believed that my pain was NOT NORMAL, my severe scoliosis was always blamed for my pain. 12 years of misdiagnosis/unwillingness to explore further lead me to a rheumatologist and a dx of autoimmune disease called Anykolsing Spondylitis – no cure BUT there IS a treatment. Life changing. Absolutely the treatment has changed my life but finally to be BELIEVED. I'm NOT crazy. It's NOT all in my head. I will never forget that day. That doctor. That HOPE.

Thank you Ren, you are so important in so many ways. Bringing light to so many important issues and resonating with so many.

Also. I love that you are finding help in Canada and filming here too. Embracing the bonkers weather that the Prairies can bring and just rolling with it.

  11. My man Ren. I'm 46 years old and your music does something to me that I've never felt from music before. I appreciate you mate. As a Canadian I love that you found healing, and positive progress in my country. I cannot wait until you start touring. I'll be the guy in the front row singing every lyric to every song with you. Your song "Hi Ren " is a masterful piece of art. And "Troubles" stands right there beside it. Keep getting better brother, because this world needs an artist like you. Cheers mate🍻

  12. I'm 71. Yeah, I connect with this very deeply. Ren, you take me back in music style and messaging/eloquence & life journey – yet thrust me forward with your positive thinking and brilliant musicianship. Love this one-of-a-kind musician to bits. Transcends genre, boundaries, and age demographics. A bright shining star to watch.

  14. According to an evolutionary biologist, music began at the same time as the development of speech, with the production of oxytocin providing the emotional basis for cooperation. We became homo sapiens through speech and music.
