Watch the full version, as there are individual videos for each of them. The 3rd one is called Violet's tale, but when you watch all 3 together, well… you'll see…

  5. Jim, Ren is a total Bard. He describes his music as BARDCORE, and that's just the perfect description for what this man is. His art transcends music. I can't get enough of him, and he just recently said that he'd love to play with these guys again, and hopes they want to as well. Here's hoping.

  11. I enjoyed this more than "Hi Ren" personally, although it was a bit of a buzzkill for me that he botched the lyrics at the end: "now THEY do what they told ya." Is this a new optimistic version of "Killing in the Name" where the government is honest and well-behaved?

  12. Love Ren! Guy is so amazing. The big push guus are all great as well. Put the guys togeth and what a treat. They have so many original songs as well was amazing covers. I would say that some of their covers are better than the original. For instance an englishman in new york.

  25. He plays multiple instruments, his rap skills are ridiculous, his singing voice has a multiple octave range with dynamics, control, power, and a very unique set of vibrato techniques. As if that weren't enough, he's an incredible story teller, he produces his own beats, he has a deep understanding of music theory and has listened to and studied all of the greats from many decades past. He produces all of his videos, and he has a half dozen or so videos that are live recordings played straight through, no edits. It really is astounding how talented and skilled Ren is at being a performer.

  26. The Big Push are fab. The "massage before the kick in the face" mentioned at the start of this one was the medley I Shot the Sherrif/Rd to Zion/Hip Hop. It was such a brilliant set that day judging by the recordings. The Big Push cover of Praise You is stripped back and wonderful. Tambourines and a harmonica! Their originals are great too.

  30. You need to off the deep end. Ren x Chinchilla "Chalk Outlines" live, and as well "How To Be Me".

    You'll be even more amazed at Ren and down another amazing rabbit hole with Chinchilla. Well worth checking out the carrots dangling from that tunnel roof.

  37. Lol, you're getting deeper into the Ren rabbit hole, and it's great to watch! War Pigs is one of my favorite songs, and I also like Rage Against the Machine, so my eyes bugged out when I saw this video. 😳 It's hard to say which song is his masterpiece, but I think The Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full Version) puts Ren in the realm of early Genesis' Peter Gabriel storytelling.

  42. I 'm sure you know this, but I find that it's a good primer even for those in the know … POST EDIT: For you in particular I must suggest Humble – Ren W/ Eden Nash .. you can hear the young Punk/Rude Boy Sting in his vocals and it just brings back some really fantastic memories.

    If you want to dive more into the rap side of his catalogue, I'd start with "What You Want" which is a brilliant homage to the Beasties, followed with "Genesis" followed by "Sick Boy" followed by "Illest of Our Time" (this one goes after the previous one so you have some grasp of the meaning) and the trail goes from there

    For more … Rock(?) fare… Follow the breadcrumbs to The Big Push … and dive in (I personally suggest Sweet Little Lady, Swan Song, Englishman in New York, and the cherry on top … I Shot The Sherriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop)

    Last but not least, don't be afraid to check down the alleys, Ren has built himself a circle of talented musician friends that will surprise you and make you glad you chose to look for hidden treasure (Hint: Chinchilla, Eden Nash, Sam Tompkins, and so many more)
