  1. I can't believe this happened. I'm devastated. I am so heart broken. He really was one of a kind. He was an incredible human being, with a beautiful mind šŸ–¤ rest in peace, Mr Lynch. We will never forget you.

  2. It makes SO much sense that the director of Mary & Max would shout out The Elephant Man. These two movies are spiritually connected, though 30 years apart and very different on a surface level.

  3. never saw a lynch film before and rented mulholland drive when i was a junior in HS. it's funny how nowadays when you look at reviews, you'll see a lot of people watch a film or tv series and leave a comment saying it made no sense and it was awful as a result — but the first time i watched mulholland drive, it did not make sense whatsoever to me and i still came away thinking it was the greatest thing i'd ever seen. i must have watched it front to back at least 5x that weekend and it captivated me.

  4. happy to see some rep for Lost Highway in the comments, but i'm gonna zag and say Inland Empire, a harrowing and transcendent experience, Lynch is truly one of the greatest American artists of the last century, Rest In Peace

  5. RIP David. I like Dune (1.0). I think it was his second picture and he was young. Trying to make a movie out of a incomprehensible story, not getting the budget he expected, filming in brutal heat in Mexico wearing rubber suits, not getting the final directors cut. It is still a great movie and even with the problems, the actors and actresses loved him. Not his best, but still very good. It also has his weirdness plus his cameo driving a spice harvester.

  7. Hopefully there are many of you out there who appreciated ā€œINLAND EMPIREā€ I’ll take that over ā€œMulholland Driveā€ any day.

  8. I remember showing Eraserhead (my personal favorite) to my friends in college. I loved seeing the pure looks of horror and confusion on their faces as they watched šŸ˜‚ after the movie ended, my friends were silent for a minute and then one of them said ā€œKay, Kris isn’t allowed to pick the movie anymoreā€¦ā€ and then they all legit didn’t speak to me for about a week šŸ¤£ā¤ļø

  9. Always enjoyed his version of Dune. Wild at Heart. His dreamscapes were such an iconic feature in his films. Hope he finds it more comforting than he envisioned. Went to Bob's Big Boy in Burbank to pay homage and eat in his honor.
