'Reliable affordable electricity’ in Ontario coming from nuclear facilities

Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith says the province has “reliable affordable electricity” that comes from its nuclear and hydro facilities.

Mr Smith said reliable energy is why they are seeing investments in Ontario at a “record rate”.

“We’re getting multibillion-dollar investments from automakers, EV battery manufacturers, electric arc furnaces that are steel-making facilities to produce green steel,” Mr Smith said.

“It’s why our population is growing as fast as it is.

“We’re preparing for our future so that we can continue to see these types of investments and growth in our province.”

When the Robodebt right wing conservatives can't win a majority government in Tasmania or hold the blue ribbon seat of Dunstan, Peter Pinocchios dream of nuclear is just a ruse to continue riding the taxpayer funded gravy train while delivering nothing for Australians………

    Peter Duttons future looks bleak…..🔪

  4. Refurbishing nuclear power plants eh, sounds dodgy. This bloke is waving multi billion dollar investments around as if everyone is clamoring for small modular reactors. The Americans just ditched their order for the only smr being contacted because it's too expensive. These things are being pushed by global conservative racketeers, they have no track record and no chance of long term competition with renewables. This is a highly cynical political ploy by Murdoch and his newly minted stooge, Dutton to run their sleazy un Australian trumpian agenda. Ugly as it gets.
