I really don’t think that Overwatch needs a sequel, there are several reasons why. Am I in the minority here? Let me know what you think.

But OW2 is basically an upgrade for OW1: the PVP component was always going to be free for OW1 owners since the beginning, something Jeff fought a lot to make happen. Now they are moving to a F2P live service model, so it's going to be free even for new players. The 5v5 is a major change for the way the game is played. And for the PVE component, they had to make big changes to the engine. I think it's fair to call it OW2 instead of 1.5. The reception from the community was very positive. I recommend you to watch a channel called Your Overwatch to see their opinion and reasons for the "sequel".
UPDTAE: It's come out since this video was released that they are actually updating the original Overwatch as opposed to releasing a separate game. I'm now on board to see what this will turn into in October.
