Refereeing controversies in League and MTN8



Our colleagues from SABC Sport talking about some refereeing decisions from the league and the MTN8. There were questions on whether Ronwen Williams should have been given a red card in the Sundowns and Pirates encounter. Former referee Ace Ncobo believes that he should have whilst SABC’s Victor Hlungewani disagrees.

Let’s have a look at that penalty incident in the MTN8 Semifinal second leg between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend. Last night Soccerzone’s refereeing expert Victor β€œThe Principal” Hlungwani looked at the incident with our colleagues from Soccerzone and came to this conclusion.

  2. chiefs and pirates wake up small boys things have changed . no more soweto wat wat score goals dont relie on fouls CAF clubs used to cheat sundowns but we keep on working hard till this today our secret we ply 2 and 3 touhes and score or tap ball score not you you play 100 touches no man

    If a player was running towards the opponent gate n defend stand infront of the striker the say defender blocked the striker way now this guy didnt even go for the ball went to block defender in action sure ther must b smthin to b said in defence of the guy who had the ball first

This discussion does not holding any water to me really we do not need these people who will say on Monday it was penalty but it doesn't change anything that happened already if this committee will be able to change the results yes carry on with them but if not why discuss all the errors of the weekend?

  5. I'm happy this man has retired as a referee. He contradicts himself. Mdantsane deliberately sticks his foot on an oncoming boot and cries foul when he gets kicked. That ref was hardly fooled.
