lmao i love RLM. they're old nerds being old nerds. mike re-realized this in the vid which is why he apologized. hes nuts about star trek because he loves it so much, he made a video about the mistakes in TNG ffs lol. nerds are nerds because of their passion for a specific thing. they devote their life to it so of course they're gunna be upset when changes happen, especially if they make no sense. i agree with all he's said about the picard series. thats NOT picard at all, it was just another trash action show and not a deep character study like they said it would be and picard is AWESOME when hes not being flowery and actiony. season 3 got its act together but i fear it was too late…
all that being said im a nerd myself so i know how it is. i can't tell you how angry i still am that the silent hill game series is ruined but instead of complain anymore. i just play the old SH games and dont even bother with the new stuff or remakes because i know its trash and i hate it. people will tell me "lol its just a game calm down" but its like, i love this game which is why im so angry that they destroyed it just for money! it was a deep video game series until they abused the damn use of pyramid head! which started in silent hill 5 but the movie also did it.
same with the tomb raider series. the OG tomb raider is like my child, that game is so perfect to me and all these remakes and redos of it piss me off because it take away from what tomb raider is! i remember playing the reboot game and omfg i was angry the whole time and complained at how horrid it was lol. lara was no longer cool, she was pathetic and weak and i hated it. nothing felt right about it either. she constantly got hurt in the game to try and make it seem tough but it just made her seem weak. i know it was meant to be "lara just starting off so she doesn't know anything" but thats my whole issue! lara would not be that pathetic! lara was a nerd for aracheology, she'd have been prepared for this! she'd have trained for this! first time or not! she'd be like captain picard and be mature about her situation! but nah they made her just weak and sad and annoying instead which is why i stopped trying with anything new and just play the old games instead.
as long as i have the old versions of what i love then i kinda dont care that the series i love gets ruined for the "modern audience" but big thing about the games i love is they're so good that anyone can enjoy them, even a "modern audience" which doesn't even exist lol. instead of modern they should call em "offended audience". "oh my god lara is in an old tomb in fuggin aztec area and theres a pygmy with a headdress! thats so offensive!" yeah then you shoot him and hes not an issue and you move on. who the fug sits there and thinks about this shit THAT deeply other than someone who is bored? see theres being a nerd but then theres also being annoying and THAT is being annoying and not being a nerd.
as for star wars…i was never a huge fan of the series. im 35 and i first watched the OG movies when i was like 20 something. the one star wars thing i do love is the ewok battle for endor movie with diabeetus man wilford brimley. god i loved that movie as a kid, i watched it so much the VHS started to get snowy. but star wars is dead now and you're better off ignoring new star wars things and just watching the old movies and playing the old games. do not give this new stuff your time or money. ignore it. even hate watching it gives it life and we dont want that.
like RLM said, not watching things is what gets things changed. if they see high numbers, they're gunna keep making the thing and if people HATE WATCH then they're gunna see numbers and keep making that shit show! so again, just dont even give it attention so it can DIE OFF!!! then things can change!!
