This week on Inside Unreal, our guests Ivan Ilko, a freelance artist and designer from Ukraine, and Mai Ao, a technical artist from SideFX Houdini will talk about their collaboration on a photogrammetry-scanning project about recreating Ukrainian heritage sites in Unreal Engine. They will also demonstrate some of the Houdini tools created along the way for the high-res geometry processing!

This is cool. Love watching this kind of environment creation done. Such a cool process, and UE is such a pleasure to use. Thank you.
As a history teacher who also does 3D, this could NOT be more cool. We need so much more of this!
Great video. One of the challenges of recreating historic sites and heritage places is ensuring that you meet many of the International best practice guidelines and charters for the recreation. This includes identifying what is authentic/real, and what is interpretive. Unreal is effective in allowing this as the creator is able to use many of the tools available to allow for the multiple interpretations that may be present.
This is increasingly an important element of education as it helps to reduce the likelihood of mis-representing the heritage asset and its values.
