  2. My favorite store, (as well as the one I'll be camping out at for RSD lol) Is Piranha Records in Round Rock TX, a great store with a great staff! Currently trying to convince them to hire me… 😅

  3. Congratulations on your upcoming two-year anniversary! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I am in NC and my favorite record store is my local Record Krate. I could really use that Fluance turntable and would pay shipping. Looking forward to RSD.

  4. I haven't been to "Too Many Records", but travel for work and always visit local stores. My favorite "local" store is Park Ave but was just in Austin and fell in love with Waterloo Records. I wish my local stores were celebrating RSD like you guys do! Live music etc… Hope to see the store in person in Q3 this year.
Cheers!!! And why isn't anyone talking about the Thin Lizzy record.. that's my #1 this year!!!

  5. Lived in the burbs of Chicago and would drive into city hour away to Reckless Records. Over the years they opened a location 15 minutes from me, which closed a year after it opened 🙁 I live in Southeast Michigan and need a better turntable for my collection please and thank you!

  6. Mu favorite record store is PCV RECORDS in Oakville, ON. They always have a great selection of vintage/used (1950- 2020) records. Congrats on your upcoming 2 year anniversary!

  7. Congrats on the two years, and Fluance is an awesome turntable, a great bang for the buck.

I'm here in Winnipeg, and Sunrise records is the one I usually visit here (as far as brick and mortar). Argy's is pretty cool but a bit far. Some of my artists I enjoy I have to order directly from them (not even on the big online sellers).

  8. Short story: My son was in Scotland (late March) performing in an orchestral concert of international school students and he lost his passport between London and Scotland. Because of this, I had to go rescue him, take the train to London (closest embassy with a passport office that was open), and go through the process of getting an emergency passport.
By sheer coincidence, my family was planning on a UK vacation the following week but this left my son and me with nothing to do for a week because I didn’t want to do touristy things without my partner and oldest.
So my son (who collects CDs) asked to go to record shops near the hotel because he was looking for a record to help complete a collection of his focusing on The Smile.
We found it at Fopp Records and they were having a deal where, if you bought up to two more records, the prices of the individual records went down.
Because I’m a nice dad, I bought my first two records (The Living End’s 25th anniversary of their self-titled and Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge) to reduce the amount he would put out on this album.
And, because I wanted to make it more special, I got to the register first and bought his first record (a Radiohead album).
We went back to the hotel and just… stared at the records. We made Discogs accounts, built want lists, started doing research (we’re both on the spectrum and big researchers).
    We had a blast.
So we started walking to every record shop we could find and MY favorite shop of all times is All Ages Records in London (Camden, specifically). It’s a punk/hardcore shop and the owner is just the coolest guy out there.
Anyway, the rest of the family came, we vacationed, yadda yadda yadda.
When we came home, I ordered my turntable and my son’s been hanging out in my office listening to the records we picked up in shops, but also checking out the records I picked up on the trip. It’s been a huge bonding experience and, honestly, might be the best decision I’ve made as a dad when it comes to my son. He’s usually really quiet and withdrawn but vinyl – music in general – has given him a space to open up and feel comfortable revealing more and more of himself.
    It’s super cool.
So yeah. His favorite is Fopp and my favorite is All Ages.

  9. Living in Northern New England I'm 45-60 min drive from any record stores, 🥲. There's a couple awesome shops in Burlington, VT Boston, MA and Portland, ME but I'm 2.5-3hours away fun each, so I'd just have to say that Newberry Comics having a couple spots in about an hour away is my current most frequent favorite shop. Congrats on 2 years!
