The volume being in my possession for three decades, uninterrupted by any other through lending or other such trusting affair, I quite often attempted entry to its depths, fathoms or miles beyond comprehension, as a mouse unknowingly follows trails of crumbs only to discover not a loaf but simply the end of the line, whether by vermin unknown or, instead, because the entire trail was never intended to be followed, and then, having dedicated considerable effort and time to the affair, thought myself unable, or at the very least unworthy of the author's art for a length of time, whether my experience, or as it were, inexperience blinded me not only to the intended message but of the general effect.
Right.
Joseph Conrad is NOT St Paul, Lincoln, or Truman Capote. He's just not worth the time or effort.
