Was this his best album? No. What it his second best album? probably not, still too soon to tell. Definitely my 3rd favorite though. Doesn't means it's bad, sucks, or meh, either. It's still great.
I don't get the hate for Memphis. I do think it could've been better. Sure. But far from being bad. My idea was to get rid of the last min. or so, of rapping. I dont care for it & instead. Have the last minute with a children's choir, from Memphis. Singing the hook. But overall it's fine.

Ummm, there is literally no era where Beyonce was not well received or luke warm. She has consistently progressed and elevated more and more after each album. And I'm not even a member of the Behive. These are facts. Also, Beyonce is doing way better than 6 years ago. Justin has a PR problem. His image has suffered based on his treatment of Britney and Janet and his unapologetic and arrogant stance. When he recently said he apologized for absolutely nothing. women were not trying to hear that. You're wife may forgive you but your fans are disappointed and tired. To think he got to headline the Superbowl Halftime Show before Usher? What type of friend does that after they mistreated Janet? Tired of his cultural appropriation without respecting actual black people. I was over him when he disrespected Prince in Sexy back. Get your career back. Boy bye.
I feel like a lot of successful artist have too many yes people in their lives and are not able to get honest feedback until its too late. Now he knows this is literally not his best work based on the numbers. Maybe it will be a slow success. I may listen to it out of curiosity but I'm honestly turned off by a lot of his comments as of late. He has an image problem and people just aren't buying it. It's great to see Usher on top where he belongs!
Love and War? Yikes, it’s atrocious. Drown is the best one by far and the rest are pretty meh. I can’t really say there are any true bops. I grade it a D but I’m being generous and I’ve been a huge fan of his the past 25 years.
Justin was ahead of Ariana and Kacey Musgraves on iTunes when their albums came out. And yes, the critics tore into him… But the fans in the comment sections all disagree and say they love it. Which is what any artist should care about most. I have always had a tendency to like the things critics hate and not enjoy their acclaimed as much. I don't know why i even watch Graeme when he talks about JT…he obviously just doesn't like him after the Britney memoir…and can't remain objective.
He left his white watered down r&b behind in man in the woods and it flopped. This album is on its way to being anothet flop. Sorry kids be mad about it, but his solo career rests on Black creatives. Producers, co-writers, background singers, dancers, choreographers. Even back with Timbaland its just not an interesting album.
I feel like if Timbaland would’ve been more involved in the making of the album it would hit harder. I’ve listened through the album 4 times front to back and there was absolutely nothing memorable for me.
I wish timberlan kept using Genuwine instead of Justin.
Don’t like the album … one song and that’s it. He needed to really spend time to come out with something different that would have people saying wow 😮

Justin should have stayed in the R&B pop lane for sure ….. but I guess the Janet debacle has come back to haunt him for sure

I agree. It wasn't bad Love and War and Technicolor are the standouts for me. Selfish was a horrible first single choice.
