A few things. The animation isn't actually just an animation. It's a real mod, there is a link in the original video to it. The video is a recording of someone (I believe the mod's creator) playing it which is why there were misses. The bomb character that boyfriend catches is Whitty from the FNF vs whitty mod. And you are correct that the game itself is open source. There are actually numerous high quality mods like this one, some also featuring some what well know youtube artists. Though this might be the first mod to feature an actual rapper.
