  1. This guys is prety biased. I looked up a few: (1) the nuclear reactor was first invented in Chicago in 1942, (2) the propeller for ships was invented by John Ericsson, a Swedish engineer, invented the screw propeller for ships in the 19th century. Then he makes you think that nuclear reactors are a Brit invention, or some key part of them, and then concludes (erroneously) that the energy % in the world they produce is a result of the Brits. Then he tries to make the phone invented by a Brit, but what he did not say is that he had long moved to the US, and invented the phone in America! Also, many Americans back then were from other countries, but they invented products/technology in the US, and not where they were from. Then he tries to make it sound like the use of electricity is also a Brit thing, but there is actually NO invention of electricity, which he tries to convey. There is just invention of its use, like the Brits did with inventing the telegraph (mid 1800s), and the Americans did with the phone (late 1800s). But, the use of electricity for sustained power came with an American (Edison and Tesla) (late 1800s) where the Niagara Falls was used to generate electricity (A/C) to light up Buffalo (the first city in the world to have electricity). What utter Brit bias! I did not go into all of them, but just researching just a few that caught my eye, tells me that this guy in this video is FOS. There is no doubt that Britain did invent a lot, especially before the rise of the US, roughly around the late 19th century.

Also, I have seen this type of utter Brit bias and false boasting in WW II documentaries made by Brits. It appears that this trend is fairly common, of boasting and making themselves look more important, and even falsifying the real facts. In fact, I have been a WW Ii enthusiast for the last 40 years, and on my website I list books and videos that I recommend to read/watch that covers WW II (I own or have watched just about all of them). I rate each and every one of these, with a weighted rating, where bias is on of the key items I take into account on how overall worthwhile the book/video is. Other factors taken into the rating are things lke accuracy, depth/detail, length (amount of data), and other factors. In about 90% of Brit generated videos documentaries on the War, the bias is very heavy and severe, and misrepresents the real facts most often. If you or anyone else is interested in seeing the WW II book/video list, go to https://sites.google.com/view/elconsultingllc/home/miscellaneous-information/miliary-history-books-videos.

So, be careful what you listen to and 'believe'.

  2. Let's just fix a few history loops… The balfore treaty was forced upon Britain as rothschilds people in the US said no sign no help in WW1 & WW2. The big one India, Britian did not administer India until 1858 when Queen Victoria tore up rothschilds mandate for the East India Company that had supported the muslim caliphate since 1400. South Africa, well rhodes was big mates with rothschild so those two clowns started the Boer War over diamond/gold fields. A bomb… 22 British scientists worked on it, Rutherford/Bohr solving a major the problem that saw it originally the size of a school bus. The Yanks said sod off after the war, so Britain built it's own bomb for $120 mill not to $2 billion with change to build the worlds first nuclear power station.

  3. More impressive were the innovations that you never saw due to be stabbed in the back by said US, labour, weak conservative & bureaucrats in our civil service that are far from fit for purpose. Todays labour front bench, a collective IQ lower than a 4 your old shoe size. What brilliant ideas you say…. Pretty much everything by Saunders Roe, the TSR2 stopped by robert mcnamara who said it would kill the US aircraft industry. The same guy who stopped the 6th fleet going to the aid of the USS Liberty, after the isrelies flying unmarked planes (another war crime) accidently riddled every compartment on the ship with rocket, cannon fire and blew a 25ft wide hole in the hull with a torpedo from a flotilla of MTB’s. Accident like the King David Hotel.

  4. Ernst Rutherford was NOT British. He was a New Zealander, born, bred, and educated prior to moving to the UK for to continue post graduate studies. The British have plenty to be proud of, but you (the presenter) claiming this falsehood (and there is NO way this was accidental, if he know enough to include him, he knew enough to know he should not have).

  5. Also first to end slavery at home and abroad, and actually really good to most colonies most of the time in the bigger picture in terms of preserving local law and leadership, bringing in jobs, industry and development, drastically reducing the rate of famines, often introducing social mobility for the vast lower classes and former slaves, ending inferior cultural traditions like widow burning, cannibalism and child sacrifice, and gradually incorporated more education with the hopes of turning all the colonies into parliamentary dominions one day. They led the world in social progress, liberalism, innovation, quality for women, lower classes, minorities and even non whites. While much of what we ended up with in the modern day would have likely arrived without Britain at some point, it’s also entirely likely that their vast amount of contributions make their removal at any point before 1945 would quickly snowball into major domino effects and lead to a significantly delayed and fundamentally different reality on a totally different trajectory led by far worse world dominating regimes.

  6. The Scots were British during the time all this was going on! after the Darien scheme and near bankruptcy of Scotland and then the English union bailout! The Scott's used that cash to educate even poor people, bought Scotland into the Golden age of Scotland! But they were Brit's and this is a video about British inventions discoveries and improvements.

  7. A small country managed to build such a large empire as a lot of it was done through trade and improving the lives of a lot of the countries they conquered. The Bengal famine wasn’t the Brits fault but widespread famine in India would have been much worse without us

  8. There were many empires who came and went with much worse histories than us, but for some reason everyone seems to enjoy disliking us. Most often when we gave a country back, and those we hung on to, were left richer, not just in a monetary way, but skills as well. Why can’t those things be recognised?

  10. The roundabout is not terrible, there’s been studies on it showing how effective it is.

-Fewer crashes, 90% fewer fatalities and 75% fewer injuries,
    -Fewer severe crashes
    -10 to 40% fewer pedestrian/bicycle crashes.
-Can be used in multiple road intersections.
-30 to 50% increase in traffic capacity for intersection, less delay waiting at stops and signals. -Reduces pollution (from cars not waiting at traffic signals), reduces noise, reduces fuel consumption. -Roundabout islands can be landscaped with native plants and trees. Roundabouts generally take less land than traditional intersections as they don't require turning lanes.
-Without traffic signals, no cost for traffic signals and yearly maintenance.
-Intersection still operates in power outages, no need for police to direct traffic.
-Roundabouts help improve sales at nearby businesses as more people can walk or easily drive to locations compared to traditional intersections

There’s a reason why the number of modern roundabouts in the US has increased from 150 in the late 1990s to more than 7,000 today.

  11. We take a lot of stick for having the greatest empire that ever was but to be fair we had a lot of it pushed on us when the Dutch, Potugese and French empires collapsed, and again after the defeat of Germany. Had we not taken over their colonies, which were mostly poorly run in comparison to ours, they would have quickly been over run by war lords with anarchy and slavery returning. The empire saved millions if not billions of lives. The empire levelled up a lot of the underdeveloped world and to this day they stand as the greatest nations amongst their neighbours. The majority of countries who were given independence were made to impose a peoples constitution beforehand, having the Magna Carta and longstanding British Law, Britain never needed a constitution of its own

  12. The biggest achievement for the brits was to end slavery for nearly the entire globe. They fought on many different fronts for almost a century to try and eradicate it. The british crusade! Why such a big focus on the british empire? There were many empires before the british, the mongol empire, the Egyptian empire, the persian empire, the roman empire, the qing dynasty, the ottomon empire etc, who all conquered counyries, some a hell of a lot more brutally than the british. What about the american empire as we speak starting proxy wars in other countries? Why are just the british being demonised when empire building has occurred throughout the whole of human history?

  13. the best way to describe the british empire is this

the british empire was to the world, what the roman empire was to europe

without it, much of the world would be much less advanced, civilised, and developed

  14. Most of the modern world exists only because of the British empire. 🤷🏼‍♂️ People can hate us but you express that hate for us on technology that wouldn’t exist without us in the first place, in a peaceful world that wouldn’t exist without us, in a world without slavery that wouldn’t exist without us, with human rights that wouldn’t exist without the enlightening and abolishment movements, free of nazis because of the sacrifices my peoples made to hold the line for years. 🤷🏼‍♂️👌🏻

America, Australia, Canada wouldn’t exist. 😂 Everything those countries have achieved, is partly ours too, since we literally birthed you. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s simply fashionable to hate on my people because of jealousy. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This isn’t to say we don’t stand upon the shoulders of giants either, of course we do, the romans, the Greeks, the Saxons, the Vikings, the Norman’s etc. All modern cultures stand upon the shoulders of giants.
