Do we actually have confirmation that alpha and beta sets are no longer a thing? We had them in World, but only when you reached High Rank. If Wilds has a similar design philosophy, wouldn't it work the same?
There is no way the indiana games blows up like hogwarts legacy, the indiana IP has been dragged through the mud for 3 decades, too much damage chipping away at the fan base.

I remember all of the overwhelming disdain for anyone who, like myself, where skeptical of the new direction and the myriad of gameplay changes. No matter how well and respectfully we elaborated on our thoughts people still plugged their ears, argued in bad faith, and resorted to ad hominems.
All the gaslighting you describe was happening at the time too, with people who used to staunchly defend how things where doing a 180° shift on the matter and starting to shit on any attempt to defend the 'archaic' old ways. All of the lying on the part of the devs and the community managers hiding and lying about controversal changes disn't help any. Of course, the fandom forgets the lies and failed copium every neq hype cycle.

Nioh 2 is hugely underrated. It has the best melee combat depth which souls can’t even come close.
