  1. Great reaction, even the pausing to say what you want is completely ok in my book. You are not alone with being hopeful about this game. It appeals to so many for many different reasons. Bethesda doesn't have the greatest track record for releasing finished and playable games at launch. They do however patch their way to success and they have always allowed their games to be modded. One of the highest modded games on the planet is Skyrim, pretty sure Fallout 4 is way up the list of all time modded games. This game looks to be a modders playground, so many possibilities for them, well, for those that are on PC anyway.

Allowing players to go where they want, when they want has made them one of the most successful game producers because of their open worlds and stories. The most hopeful to many that know of Bethesda, is the fact that they always set a release date and they would stick to it. No matter how finished it was, no matter how buggy it was, no matter how many patches it would take just to run, they would release it. This time however, they pushed the release of it back 10 months. That, alone is a pretty big deal knowing Bethesda. It still just feels hopeful though, it does seem vast, it leaves so much room for really screwed up things to happen. Personally, I can't wait to find out for myself.

  2. Folks remember you can play Starfield on a Smart TV! A little easter egg from Oblivion was the Adoring Fan, once you were Arena Grand Champion he would show up and be annoying. The voice actor is even the same. The Start Menu thing is so stupid. I am going to be playing the game not staring at the start menu. Look at the start screen of Skyrim, and we are going on 13 years of that game being huge. Game + has been verified for Starfield. They say it will be different and special (I think it will revolve around collecting the artefacts and maybe powers you get from them carring over to your new playthrough).
Oh and best real-ish SciFi TV would be The Expanse.

  3. Don't worry. We all know that face animation isn't Bethesda's strongest front. It most certainly doesn't stop them from making immersive games, but there is definitely room for improvement.

  4. By 25 years in the making, it means that Starfield is the brainchild of Todd Howard, or his first love. He's been having the idea of making a space game since the early days of his career.

  5. Your about to take your first step into a Bethesda Studios game. Be aware that their average playtime for a single playthrough is hundreds of hours… then once the mods and DLC come out, many players spend over a thousand hours on a single playthrough.

These games are vast, which is why they skimped a bit on the facial expressions. Though don't worry, I mentioned mods, Bethesda games are designed to allow literally hundreds of fan created mods. These mods cover everything from beautifying things, adding new animations, custom designed player homes (i guess Starships for this game), new weapons, fan created companion with thousands of voice acted lines, players creating new campaigns/missions, or heck even silly things like chickens that explode like Nukes when hit, to replacing an ingame dragon with a flying Thomas the train. Or in a totally different tangent, mods that Expanded upon the skill trees, character backgrounds, new custom game starts for players bored of the original opening, etc

Heck one game even Expanded a feature so players could go from adopting 2 lucky orphans from the game to literally you getting to adopt a half-dozen orphans… and the game had dozens of kids in terrible situations needing recusing. There was other mods to make unmarrable characters to have unique questlines to get them to overcome their trauma so you could marry them.

This has been a big secret of Bethesda games success. They allow fans to improve their game, expand of features, create alternate paths to quests, or just let you change it up so your second playthrough will be totally different (new missions and fan created characters really help with this). All their modern games have ten of thousands of mods. I think Skyrim was nearing 100,000 mods on just 2 sites, and probably surpassed that on a few different sites that had adult content mods. It's one of the most modded games of all time. Which also is why it sells so good, because in 10 years time, there will be players still making new content for it, nearly all completely free for anyone.

Their game engine from their previous games originally allowed 255 mods, then got upgraded to 250 mods of one type and 5,000 of another type. Starfield though is using a brand new and improved upon game engine they created themselves. So it's unknown the exact limit but expect hundreds of mods allowed in a single playthrough at the minimum.

  6. Welcome to Bethesda's world. You have noticed what is one of the weak, facial animation. Bear in mind that there are thousands and thousands of named and interactible npc in the game. At any rate, you will see what make their worlds unique and special. You will feel the world live, rich and complex with thousands of little stories, sometimes more intriguing that the main one

Enjoy BGS games now, expecially Starfield.
No one mentioned it but the music in their game is always a masterpiece

  8. I’ll explain shortly one of the best things I’ve experienced in any Bethesda game.

    My first Bethesda game.

Days of flip phones, and the birth of YouTube, Elder Scrolls Oblivion had came out and I didn’t have Internet and plus the Internet was kind of a different place back then.

I had contracted and fully turned vampire in Oblivion and the devs, built a world that I questioned everything. Without any help from the Internet I search for IRL days for cure that I didn’t even know it was possible.

I just felt like maybe I could cure myself in this game, and it turned out. My gut feeling was true. A quest was found and I started a journey to cure my heart of darkness.

What I’m most excited for in Starfield isn’t just the world or my love for space. It’s those moments of this might be possible and trying it out only to find out your gut feeling is true.

Do you not spoil yourself with anything in this game. If something happens to you in game, think logically. Because it will be the moment when you say this might be possible. To figure it out on your own. Will be so rewarding. For years and years. 😊

Side note : Also being a vampire was rough. Curse the sun. But boy oh boy did I slaughter so many. The power was really getting to my head. So I did the most logical thing and started a new character vampire build and went full on psycho.. duh!!! 😂 this is what Bethesda games are.

Enjoy the sandbox of whatever you want to do.
