  1. Great reaction mate. Keep reacting to “Farnsey” and your subs will soar. Michele is right, check out “When something is wrong with my baby”, and meet “Barnsey” (Jimmy Barnes). It’s a deep rabbit hole with both these artists.

This song was at the end of a 2 hour concert… John Farnham or Farnsey as we Aussies call him….. is truly 'The Voice'……. if you can find the performance of Farnsey and Tom Jones singing 'My Yiddishe Mama'….. they are fangirling over each other lmao….. and it is truly 2 of the best voices in the world……

  5. In this clip, you can see how much love and respect the audience (and all Australians) have for John.
I first remember seeing him perform this song at a Royal Charity gala before Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1980 at the Sydney Opera House. Now I can't listen to the Beatles original, it just doesn't stack up against John's version (in my opinion)
    Thank you again.

  6. You had me at the first reaction. I am so glad you reacted to my suggestion. What a way to take a Beatles song and make it your own hey! He is a man of many talents…others have suggested some other great ones to follow up with. I agree with them all.

  7. Thanks natron! If you are going to explore the many sides of Farnsey it will take you a while, there's a lot to cover. And we will love leading you down that road of discovery!

  8. He is definetly one of the best male singers of all time. End of story. Check out a song called when the war is over. Its from a live show called the last time, its from 2003. He was 53yo at the. In my oppinion its one of his strongest live performence. His vocal range is unbelivable. Obs!!! He is not singing together with jimmy barnes.

  9. John sings in the time signature that John Lennon wrote the song in it was speed up to make it more pop orientated for the movie. if you wish to hear his full range try the cover of Black Dog that he did as a sound check sorry no video just sound

  10. As others have said, "When Something is Wrong With My Baby" live with Jimmy Barnes & Diesel is good, but I'd also have a listen to his rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog". There isn't any video but luckily his sound engineer recorded the performance which was only ever done as a sound-check/warm-up for his concerts, which is a pity as it is exceptional – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2Yi6TVi-sU
    Some facts about John for background;
    – It's said that John Lennon endorsed this version stating this is how it should have been sung/performed.
    – Brian May invited John to be lead singer for Queen after Freddy's passing, but John politely declined.
    – John could have had a huge international career including in the US, but instead chose family over fame and stayed home in Australia to be a father and husband. This is a great example of the man John Farnham is and why Australia loves him dearly.

  11. It started with Sadie The Cleaning Lady way back in the 60s and everyone knew we had something special here, and he just kept getting better and better until he was the best singer Australia had to offer.

And I admit to still staring in awe of the brilliant performer/entertainer John Farnham. The entire concert performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is nothing short of stunning. Being viewed now all over the world…(what took you all so long lol) Looking forward to more from John on you channel

  16. Now that you have discovered Farnsie
You should also discover Morissette Amon. She is without doubt the best singer on the planet at this time.
Start with her first big hit Akin Ka Na Lang. Live on wish bus 107.5. It’s in The Filipino language but you certainly don’t have to understand it to appreciate how incredible it is. Must listen to the very very end

  17. "Thank you, Melbourne. Good night, be careful". This was his final encore. He had been beling numbers out for over two hours. Then he did this. THAT, folks, is PURE TALENT of the most highest order.

  18. A good choice in my opinion is John doing a duet with Olivia Newton John singing Please Don't Ask Me from The Main Event Concert, a beautiful romantic ballad. He also does a great duet with Jimmy Barnes singing When Something is Wrong With My Baby, from the 1991 ARIA Awards.

  19. Thank you for your appreciation of our phenomenal Aussie legend John Farnham. Like many Australians I have loved John for over 50 years, along with his band of amazing musicians. Please watch more of John’s vast repertoire of hit songs.

  20. Check out Long way to the top and You're the voice from the same concert, mind blowing!.. Interesting point, John Lennon loved this version and said it's the way he wanted the Beatles to do it originally. He wrote it at the time as a cry for help. It was never meant to be a preppy pop song. John can out sing anyone on the planet, any genre. Enjoy the ride!🥰

  21. You’re the Voice, Playing to Win and It’s a Long Way to the Top all from the same concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are the best ones to react to next. You play John and the subscribers will come! ❤❤❤

  22. John Lennon said this is the best version of Help and is how it should have been recorded in the first place. In Australia we' re so familiar with this version it's hard to remember the Beatle's version.

  23. Watch John Farnham's live version of Burn for you. It is just him and a guitarist. That song among so many others of his will show he is a standalone performer. Not many can match him.

  24. This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol

A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also.

The reason you haven't heard of him is because the US music industry is a closed little club. When John Farnham went to the US they didn't know which genre to put him in so his US promotions manager got him a couple of gigs in a little jazz club, where the MC introduced him as Jack Phantom. Couldn't even be bothered getting his name correct, so being a bit disheartened he wandered home to concentrate on his loyal fan base. The experience did give him inspiration to write a couple of good songs about missing his familiy, like this one.

    Burn For You..

    Angels..

Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers.

John and Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_2NJRIdBO8

    Please Don't Ask Me..

This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not here him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well..

When Something Is Wrong With My Baby….

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uV_tZODfK8

And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet, Jimmy Barnes, he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel on guitar.
