  10. I think Matt’s fixation on Fisk can be explained by three things. First, like you guys mentioned, he thinks Fisk is his responsibility because he “failed” to take care of Fisk in season 1. Second, I think he just honestly doesn’t really have anything else he can do at this point in life. He certainly can’t be a lawyer or otherwise do something as Matt Murdock, or else the FBI would quickly arrest him and he’d go to jail. Third, when you get into a really tough spot in life like Matt is, it’s easy to fixate on a single problem and think that by solving it, all of your issues will go away. Dex thought this when he was a kid – throwing a perfect game of baseball would bring his parents back. Matt here might think that by killing(?) Fisk he would be redeemed in the eyes of the people of New York, and the eyes of God. And also yes, the tension in the last half of this season is off the charts. A sign of great film-making

  11. Gotta take a moment to appreciate Geoffrey Cantor, the actor who plays Ellison. I feel like he gets overlooked a lot when people discuss this show. But he blows it out of the water every episode he's in.

  12. To be fair, Matt promised to keep 'Betsy' safe…..not both 'Melvin and Betsy'…….sad what happened to Melvin in the end, but cant really put it all on Matt

  13. I'm pretty sure the fact that Matt has only just now found out Betsy is Melvin's PO means he never even looked into who she was in the slightest…kind of hard to keep a promise to protect someone if you don't even bother finding out who they are.

  17. I felt so horribly for Ellison here: he's been trying so hard to protect his people since Ben's death. I can't blame him at all for his attitude. Foggy is the frickin best. Low key I would love to see a show from his perspective.

  20. You guys are really kinda adorable about your favorites (Ellison and Foggy, usually), but I also like your protectiveness of Melvin.

    I was laughing a little at the change in tone here. You've been really tough on the characters' mistakes up to this point, but today it was all forgiveness and all about their humanity and how you couldn't do any better. Not sure whether you're playing an angle or something got through to you to make you feel more compassion (particularly for Matt and Karen). I respect your right to change your minds or feel differently from episode to episode, and I like your cutting them a break because these characters have been through a lot and are doing the best they can. The inconsistency still amused me.
