I updated my grades for each of the new tracks that arrived in Wave 3 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass. Which ones are the best? Which one’s are the worst? Are there any that are trash?
Peach 🍑 gardens and 3ds are very good peach gardens is a container for the best track and the worst track is London because or the moving chain chops and the environment but it is decent overall and has a great backround.
So this is why I saw you on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when I was briefly on my Switch earlier today. Good to know.
London Loop has Chain Chomps on Laps 1 and 2, but just Chomps on Lap 3.
I still haven't attempted the Boo Lake cut. Mostly because I'm not looking for it when that part of the race comes. Maybe some Time Trial practice is in order, but it would only help me in an oddly-specific set of circumstances pertaining to this channel's tournaments.
🪨🪨⛰ is a course on which I can't really speak. I'm not really into glider-heavy courses, but I'm not opposed to them either. I have, however, found that the World Record Time Trial that we watched earlier this week was indeed a max Air Speed combo. Wario has max Speed across all terrain, the Teddy Buggy is a solid Acceleration and Mini-Turbo body that also has max Air Speed specifically, the Cushion tires are generally mid-tier from an all-around standpoint but they do indeed have the max Air Speed, and the Wario Wing glider is part of the set I originally considered to be the worst of the four different stat groups but (as with the other parts of the combo) has max Air Speed. If Lexus comes across this combo, I couldn't give this detailed response when I was first questioned after making the initial declaration in the live chat the day we watched the world record. Darn you, 200-character limit in the live chat.
I keep telling you to enjoy the docile Wigglers on Maple Treeway while they last. The wild ones have a certain type of charm, but the docile ones have a different type of charm. Wigglers are Wigglers, so Maple Treeway is one of the only 3 S-tier courses I have in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at present, with the others being Yoshi Valley (technically S+, since it's always been my favorite course dating back to the N64 days) and Ninja Hideaway.
Aside from the music, I'm in complete agreement with your evaluation of Berlin Byways. I'm just not feeling the vibe from Berlin's music.
I still think Peach Gardens would have been a better fit for Wave 4 if it gets released around the same time of year that Wave 1 did. I can't remember if I addressed it in a previous video, but Peach Gardens in Wave 3 might suggest that Wave 4 won't be out until after spring, so we ended up getting an underrated gem one wave early. Gliding through the hedges might be my favorite part of actually racing on it. I refuse to say anything in greater detail about doing so through the Peach hedge because this is a wholesome channel.
Ah, Merry Mountain. In races with live competition, I may develop a habit of using the halfpipe just so I can have items near the end of the first and second laps. When I race single-player, taking that final turn like normal tends to make me drift in between the item boxes, and I'm even using my beloved Wild Wiggler in those races, so if it's a hitbox issue, it's because of Koopa Troopa being a light driver.
Mario Kart 7's Rainbow Road is without a doubt the best Rainbow Road currently in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and unless Double Dash's version is in a later wave, I don't see any version surpassing it. The only way I could think to improve this port would be to have 3 actual laps instead of breaking it into a one-lap race with 3 sections. That's also the way I would improve N64's Rainbow Road, but the big difference between the versions from the N64 and Mario Kart 7, at least to me, is that each section from Mario Kart 7 feels like its own lap while the sections on the one from the N64 just feel like they're gone in a flash.
In closing, here are my grades at present for the Wave 3 courses.
S: Maple Treeway A: London Loop, Rainbow Road B: Boo Lake, Berlin Byways, Peach Gardens, Merry Mountain C: Rock Rock Mountain
3:40 Hmm, I don't see the Wigglers being changed in an update. Their routes being changed was done most likely to make them not be so much of a nuisance navigating around. They still serve well as obstacles, and now cause you to spin out upon colliding with them above a certain speed.
I think the Coconut Mall update has made people a tad too hopeful for more changes to other tracks.
I personally highly disagree with Tour Berlin Byways not being memorable, it is so varied and creative (it's already an underrated classic for me). Here's my personal ranking at the moment: 24 – GBA Sky Garden: This may be 24th on this list but for me it's by far the worst course ever made in its new form. They butchered the original layout of the course, removed shortcuts and replaced the original road with an orange colour. It's a disgrace of a remake that tainted the original's legacy, I couldn't despise it more; 23 – Tour Tokyo Blur: This city just doesn't do it for me, it's a bit too bland and boring to drive through. This course is still fun but quite meh compared to others; 22 – 3DS Toad Circuit: I know this course gets a lot of hate but I actually quite enjoy it a lot. Sure, it's a boring choice but it's still a fun course; 21 – GBA Boo Lake: An amazing remake of the GBA course but unfortunately I don't find it as engaging as the others and I miss the Boos holding candles. Still, it is an amazing course which deserves a ton of praise; 20 – N64 Choco Mountain: I love this course in its original form and also really like the remake but for some reason I don't feel it is as good as the other courses offered in the DLC; 19 – SNES Mario Circuit 3: Such a great course, I love how flat and simplistic it is while being really hard to go through. This game desperately needed a flat course and this absolutely delivered even though SNES Mario Circuit 4 would've been a better choice; 18 – Tour London Loop: I absolutely adore this course for the Chain Chomps, atmosphere and maze-like structure but unfortunately it has a lot of empty areas which really hinder its quality. I found this course bad in Tour but they made it great here so that's an accomplishment on its own anyways; 17 – GBA Snow Land: I loved this course the first time I played it but the more I played the more I started to not like it as much. It's still a really fun course but I wish there were more obstacles in it; 16 – Tour/BCP Merry Mountain: An amazing course all-around (especially for its theming) but I feel like it could be better on the layout department. It's great but just not the best unfortunately; 15 – Wii Mushroom Gorge: A lovely course all around which is a ton of fun. I love to bounce around on this course, it's so great; 14 – 3DS Rock Rock Mountain/3DS Alpine Pass: An amazing underrated masterpiece of a course. It is such a blast to just glide over a beautiful scenery and I'm glad this course made it in for that reason; 13 – BCP/Tour Sky-High Sundae: By far the most underrated course in the DLC, it feels so alien compared to other courses and is so floaty and fun. That combined with its weird theme makes it perfect for me; 12 – N64 Kalimari Desert: I always loved this course in its original form and this remake somehow improved it even more. I love avoiding the train, going through the tunnel and driving through an empty desert road, such a great course; 11- Tour Paris Promenade: A simple yet amazing course for its theme and layout. I have nothing to say about this one besides the fact that it's really immersive; 10 – Tour New York Minute: An amazing course which I think is underrated. I find it so fun cruising through the streets of New York and I think that it works well with the stationary cars, perfect course; 09 – Wii Maple Treeway: I love the comforting autumn setting of this course along with its really creative design, it's just a blast to play every time; 08 – Wii Coconut Mall: Even though they butchered the end of this course it is still a blast racing through a giant mall, this course deserves the praise it receives and more; 07 – Tour Sydney Sprint: This course was pretty meh in Tour but here they somehow made it amazing. I just love it all-around; 06 – DS Waluigi Pinball: I always found this course pretty overrated in the past but here they somehow made me finally really enjoy it. It's just a really fun course all-around; 05 – DS Peach Gardens: If they kept the main maze-like design unchanged from the original version (with 5 rows of bushes rather than 3), the item boxes behind the chain chomps and the tricky flowers to avoid this would easily be number 1 on the list as it is on its original form my second favourite racing course ever. Fortunately the path change on the last lap kind of makes it a lot more redeemable and the course is still so gorgeous that it's hard to make it bad. It's worse than the original layout-wise but still amazing; 04 – 3DS Rainbow Road: Simply a masterpiece. You go through space on a beautiful Rainbow Road in an unforgettable journey, it's highly regarded for a reason; 03 – Tour Berlin Byways: I didn't enjoy this course in Mario Kart Tour that much but somehow combining the three variants made it a masterpiece. This course simply has everything: you go through a train station, several parks, the Berlin wall, arches, etc. (it's the whole package) while having a part of the road dedicated to just avoiding cars and tree roundabouts reminiscent of N64 Toad's Turnpike or DS Shroom Ridge. Unlike those two courses though, this one tries to do more than just being another car course and only uses the cars to enhance the course itself. For me this is already an underrated classic; 02 – DS Shroom Ridge: They somehow made an ok course into a masterpiece without changing it too much, I just adore this new version of the course and I don't know why; 01 – Tour/BCP Ninja Hideaway: I love courses with branching paths you can choose and this one delivers that perfectly. On top of that it's a really challenging course which makes it perfect. Bias for DS Airship Fortress aside it might be the best course ever.
After playing Maple it does could do a similar update like Coconut mall with the moving Shy Guy on the cars that they can do the same with the wigglers and do that on Maple Treeway I think it would be one of the best tracks
Downgrading Maple, even if the wigglers are slower, is unacceptable. It is one of the best tracks of the game. The Wigglers won't get updated since they don't have to. I find this complaint kinda stupid. Also the reason the coconut mall cars got updated is because they were unfinished, the wigglers are exactly how they want them to be.
Hi!
1:30 BLUE SHY GUY!!!!
Man, each wave is just going to get better and better.
I’m out on a walk right now. I will watch this later.
Berlyn byways is fun yes you can kario Marted but it is good and it is viable to bag.
Peach 🍑 gardens and 3ds are very good peach gardens is a container for the best track and the worst track is London because or the moving chain chops and the environment but it is decent overall and has a great backround.
I’m glad someone else said something about the Wigglers on Maple Treeway. They aren’t as much of an obstacle as they used to be
3ds Rainbow Road is by far my favorite in wave 3. The blue glow on the edges of the road and its transluscence gives it an awesome other-wordly feel.
The wigglers should just bump you back like the bumpers on Waluigi Pinball.
How I’d Rank Wave 3 From Best to worst:
1: Boo Lake
2: Peach Gardens
3: Maple Treeway
4: London Loop
5: Berlin Byways
6: Merry Mountain
7: Rainbow Road
8: Alpine Pass
For Peach Gardens, i would grade it a B on 150cc and an A on 200cc
So this is why I saw you on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when I was briefly on my Switch earlier today. Good to know.

Rock Rock Mountain: C
Maple Treeway: A
Berlin Byways: A
Peach Gardens: A
Merry Mountain: B
Rainbow Road: A
i’d personally give berlin a c and still give maple treeway an a! it’s gorgeous!
I never owned or played MK7 so MK8DX has been my first experience with those tracks. I gotta say, Rainbow Road 3DS is an absolute banger.

NOO MERRY MOUNTAIN IS MY FAV
Alex, here's the Luigi death stare combo: Luigi, Mach 8, slim wheels, and the glider doesn't matter;just use the standard glider.
Boo Lake is an awesome track, it definitly deserves an A+, I don't know what you're saying
Downgrading Maple, even if the wigglers are slower, is unacceptable. It is one of the best tracks of the game.
