On Raw this week The Rock makes it clear that he still wants to main event WrestleMania 2000, however Triple H and The Big Show want to ensure Rock has no chance of competing for the WWF Championship. Triple H and Big Show team up for a 2 on 1 match against Rocky in the main event. Elsewhere on the card Steve Blackman gets a brand new Head Cheese entrance, Chris Jericho faces Perry Saturn, and Tazz tries to better his position in the company with a match against Chris Benoit.

On Nitro Tank Abbott gets a WCW World Championship match against Sid Vicious. The match is heavily promoted throughout the entire Nitro broadcast, and the match itself turns out to be a dud. Hulk Hogan challenges Ric Flair to a “Yapapi” strap match during a pretty well known promo, and Buff Bagwell tries his luck with Miss Elizabeth (resulting in Bagwell facing The Total Package in a singles match).

  1. It seems like the writers for both promotions only had three choices for match finishes. low blows, run ins, or guitar shots. It got so annoying after awhile.

I thought the invasion angle was when my love for wrestling started to wane, but looking back now, it looks like it was 1999 – 2001 from both promotions. People regard the attitude era as the end all be all of wrestling, but it really wasn't that great, it just might've been a hair better than what WCW was putting out, that's all.

  2. while the next 7 months are gonna be tough, wcw is actually gonna get better at the end with the scott Steiner booker T matches, and with 6 months of scott Steiner as champion (longest reign since Goldberg) it would be entertaining enough
