Rashid is (Literally) Broken – Rashid and Drive Rush Cancel patch *NOW PATCHED*

UPDATE: The Rashid bug has been patched: https://twitter.com/StreetFighter/status/1683784957322203136

The first DLC character for Street Fighter 6, Rashid, is here. While players are enjoying his complex mobility options and high speed gameplay, a severe bug has come with his release only 10 days before EVO, the largest fighting game tournament ever. Capcom also made clever changes to their drive rush cancel quality of life change and modified how lights can ( or rather, can’t) buffer drive rush.

  1. See this is the problem I have with the new patching constantly of new fighting games. I really want this new Rashid bug to be game defining at EVO as many game defining bugs have been at past EVOs. We finally have a broken ass character and it needs to get patched? Whatever lol

  2. You touched on that subject on the dlc character in tournaments video, releasing dlc characters so late before the tournament always creates scrambling meta for the players, people are using the excuse of making it interesting for the spectators but the late patches and tweaks make the stakes that much higher for people who are paying to attend and test their skills.

  3. Pretty sure Evo isn't under consideration when releasing content. After all the primary concern for them is the wider population and not the niche pro circuit. Focusing on the pro circuit has always been a bad idea for the health of games in general even if they are competitive games.

  4. It's capcom fault for removing or addressing cheap tech from the game? How about it is their responsibility to do so! If LP to DR was your strategy to win EVO, you are a dreamer in the first place.

  5. The contenders of EVO deserve a square deal. Something tells me if hotfix isn't out in time, Rashid either will be banned this year, or most people will agree not to use him in a show a mutual respect.

  6. I play gief on stick and actually like how lights cancel into DR now. Even if it does't connect, I can whiff, rush and most times get a grab cause they don't see it comming. Even at the cost of 3 bars, is great. Also gief now recovers from burnout as fast as other characters, so burnout isn't as terrible as it used to be.
