*RARE* Delta Airlines Lockheed L-100 Gemini Jets 1:400 Scale Model Review

A new rare Gemini jets addition to my collection, the Delta Lockheed L-100 1:400 scale model!

I recently got this model off of eBay for around $35, this is my first limited edition Gemini jets model in my collection and is my 3rd Delta Airlines model!

This model was released in 2005 and only made for a short period of time, and with the fact that this model isn’t very known makes it a pretty rare model! Until I purchased this model, I never knew Delta Airlines once operated this miniature version of the C130 or even had freighter aircraft!

The Lockheed L-100 was 1 of only 2 aircraft Delta used specifically as cargo only or freighter aircraft, the other being the C46 in the late 1950s and early 60s. Delta operated the Lockheed L-100 (or L-382B) from the late 1960s to the early 1970s as freighter only aircraft to transport cargo to close destinations (kind of how FedEx uses their ATR aircraft and Cessna 408s). But this only lasted for a short period of time and once Delta acquired larger commercial aircraft they no longer needed the L-100 for small cargo flights.

Even though the model is small, it’s very nicely detailed with the retro Delta livery and all the realistic details for the L-100! Overall this is a great model and I’m very happy to have it in my collection!
