  1. I thought kalamari desert would be a bit dissapointing but when i played it, it is one of the best courses of all time i like this dlc so much, sydney sprint is my favorite in this wave, but the other tracks are also bangers, nintendo did a very great job. This is something they can be very proud of.

  2. My top course has to be Snow Land — for some reason, I adore its more simplistic design and it has a very cute and pretty atmosphere. On the flip side, I really disliked the two Tour courses. The laps change way too much and it can be difficult to see turns, making it very confusing.

  3. Waluigi pinball dosent use Wario stadiums music Wario stadium uses Waluigi pinballs music, Nintendo was just to lazy to make new music for Wario stadium so they reused Waluigi pinballs music not expecting to put that track in the game later.

  4. 8: SNES Mario Circuit 3 (A huge surprise that it was actually fun!)
7: GBA Snow Land (I had a blast with this very awesome track)
6: N64 Kalimari Desert (Had all the great things about the OG plus more)
5: Tour Sydney Sprint (This course is just really really cool)
4: Wii Mushroom Gorge (One of the best tracks in Mariokart Wii)
3: Tour New York Minute (I loved exploring the streets of New York)
2: Sky High Sundae (I’m a huge fan of both of the new tracks in this DLC!!)
1: DS Waluigi Pinball (One of the most beloved Mariokart courses of all time!)

  5. My Ranking:

    8. SNES Mario Circuit 3: it’s a classic. While it is enjoyable and fun to race on, the fact that it’s a SNES track, it is still kind of flat and basic.

    7. N64 Kalimari Desert: the added route through the tunnel and on the train tracks is genius and amazing! The music remix is also a great. But at the end of the day it is still Kalimari Desert. The second lap felt a little shorter too.

    6. Sky-High Sundae: I kind of predicted this would be in the shape of an oval based on the teaser footages. It’s great to finally have anti gravity in the booster course pass, but sometimes to anti-gravity does not make sense, like why is the starting line anti-gravity? The roads and the shy guys are clearly on a surface parallel to the ground

    5. DS Waluigi Pinball: it’s Waluigi Pinball, does this really need any explanations? It was fun to revisit this track. The neon aesthetic is great. But I think there are better tracks in here. Still great though.

    4. GBA Snow Land: The most improved track out of the bunch. The ice physics aren’t too unpleasant, the added frozen lake section is nice, and it feels challenging enough.

    3. WII Mushroom Gorge: This tracks is already perfection. Don’t mess with perfection 🙂

    2. TOUR New York Minute: the different routes are great, not a single one of them felt underwhelming. I love that we’re racing after it rained. The water on the ground is absolutely amazing!

    1. TOUR Sydney Sprint: the best city course so far. Everything, from the visuals, the choices or routes and music… this track has it all. Every lap has something else going on, and it combined both alternative routes and driving in reverse. The second also felt a little longer then the first and last one, but the track was so fun I didn’t realize that until I got to the finish line!

  6. I agree with you in regards to Mushroom Gorges Graphics. I think in general, tracks that have much "natural enviroment" like Gras, Rocks and Trees look worse in the Booster Course Pass due to the Tour Graphic Stil. However I think that Mushroom Gorge still looks a lot better than Shroom Ridge, which looks like its made out of plastic.

  8. Wave 2 was MUCH better than wave 1! Every track was a blast to race on, even the weaker tracks were still a great time to race on!

    Here’s my ranking:

    8. SNES Mario Circuit 3 – Solid classic track, not terribly exciting but still a fun time.

    7. N64 Kalimari Desert – Good atmosphere but kind of an uneventful track. The alt route added some extra spice but made the track feel too short as well.

    6. GBA Snow Land – Loved the atmosphere, fun layout, fun track. Simple but really enjoyable.

    5. DS Waluigi Pinball – One of my favorite DS tracks. Always great to see it remade.

    4. Tour New York Minute – Great immersive city track, alternate routes make it feel like a fresh experience each lap.

    3. Tour Sydney Sprint – Same goes for this one as NY minute, but even more so.

    2. Wii Mushroom Gorge – One of my favorite Mario kart tracks ever, looks beautiful and plays wonderfully.

    1. Sky High Sundae – Love this track. May be my favorite in the whole game, base game included. It feels like a roller coaster and I absolutely love it!

  9. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the two new tour courses. Definately better than the first two, but they feel… wonky. Scaling could've been larger, tbh.
I personally love Snow Land and Gorge. Snow Land is faithful almost to a tea, keeping in shortcuts, even if they aren't visable! You can skip a turn by jumping off a cliff where a shortcut was in the original, and the new ramp one at the end is awesome! And Gorge takes everything from Wii and 3DS, and makes them better.

Kalamari is fine, but the 2nd lap turn onto the tracks can be painful imo.

Waluigi Pinball is Waluigi Pinball. Can't break perfection.

Mario Circuit 3 is one of those simplistic tracks which feel great to race on with friends. The main difference between it and other simplistic tracks, like Toad Circuit, Baby Park, and Excabike, is the winding turns.

And finally, Skyhigh Sundae isn't bad at all, the camera is just a bit wonky on the split path segment.

    My personal ranking:
    1: Mushroom Gorge
    2: Snow Land
    3: Waluigi Pinball
    4: Sky High Sundae
    5: Sydney Sprint
    6: Mario Circuit 3
    7: Kalamari Desert
    8: New York Minute

  10. My own ranking after doing both 150 and 200cc for each GP and a handfull of online games:

    8: Kalimari Desert
Like the OP said, one of the most boring tracks of it's time and it honestly hasn't changed much. I don't hate it it's just extremely average.

    7: New York Minute
It's a good track, but it feels extremely uninspired, like most of the tour tracks so far to be honest. New York Minute is the antithesis to Paris promenade to me, where PP is a bad track with a good aesthetic while NYM is a decent track with a bland aesthetic

    6: Sky High Sundae
Cool concept, but sweet sweet canyon had this style down for nearly 5 years. The track falls flat for me with the lack of background and oversaturated design.

    5: Mario Circuit 3
I've always been a sucker for this course, and mk8 needs more tracks like it where you can really see the smoothness of the drift and handling of this games engine in action with no track impediments. Just a really solid track.

    4: Mushroom Gorge
I don't really like how large the mushrooms are in mk8, it makes the track look cluttered and less "natural". Everything else is pretty much unchanged or changed for the better to make the track more fair. Solid.

    3: Snow Land
I had never heard of this course until they announced it for mk8 and it has definitely surprised me. The atmosphere, music, and color scheme are all really pleasing and it makes for a more grounded experience compared to the rest of the tracks. Some things I don't like though is how similarly designed the track is to MC3, and how the first item box set moves along the track. that second might be a nitpick though because I tend to dislike every track that uses that feature (toads turnpike)

    2: Sydney Sprint
I don't really need to explain this one. It's the only city track that I actually enjoy. Has nice music, tough shortcuts, and beautiful scenery, just a very good track.

    1: Waluigi Pinball
This track is awesome, an unexpected gem like snow land. This is easily the most visually pleasing track in the entire game for me. Vibrant colors and obstacles combined with a track design that keeps both inside and outside drift vehicles neck and neck is really all you can ask for in a Mario kart game, and Waluigi Pinball definitely does not disappoint

  12. My Rankings from Worst to Best:

#8 SNES Mario Circuit 3: Wow big shocker that this track would be the lowest on the list XD But, in all seriousness, I still really liked this track. Since the SNES and Wii Versions had pretty bad controls (At least for me) this was a big improvement as I was able to control my characters really well on the sharp turns. Using Mushrooms on the dirt shortcuts as well as the obvious shortcut at the end was pretty fun and I do still like the little boost panel at the end. However, all the other tracks were just much more appealing and even though SNES Mario Circuit 3 might be the worst track in the game due to being the most bland, it's not a bad track in the slightest.

#7 Sky-High Sundae: This was a very interesting course to say the very least. When I saw the gameplay for this track I thought it would have a similar layout to GBA Sky Garden with a lot of windy turns and a bunch of ways to trick off ramps. However, that wasn't really the case. Like you said, it was basically just a large oval with a bunch of windy paths that just mirror each other and with the anti gravity mechanic, I felt a bit off when driving on it. Like SNES Mario Circuit 3, it's not a bad track at all. I still enjoyed myself racing on it but, it was just a bit too bland for what I thought would be an exciting Dessert themes course.

#6 GBA Snow Land: I had a feeling that Snow Land would land pretty low on the list as there were so many amazing new courses added that there would obviously be 1 course that I really enjoyed but had to rank low because of how much better the other courses were. This was the same treatment as GBA Sky Garden and DS Shroom Ridge from Wave 1. It's obviously a massive improvement from the original track as there's no shaky camera (even though we drove on ice which made no sense) and the whole aesthetic was beautiful to see. Driving around a snowy park around and on top of a frozen lake was great and I had a great time racing on it; the little shortcut right at the end is fun too. But, like I said, there were just so many amazing tracks in this wave that it had to rank low.

#5 Tour New York Minute: My goodness this was a fun track. The music was a blast, it was a city themed track at night, which made it really beautiful to drive through and I really love the idea that each lap was a different path like Tokyo Blur and i'm so glad to see tracks doing this nowadays. It's exciting, challenging and a lot of fun. But, the only reason why it's lower than the rest is simply because I accidentally go the wrong way once or twice. It's likely because i'm a smooth brain but still, this is a really fun and exciting track to race on (Also, I predicted this track to be the first 1 in this cup so there's that.)

#4 Tour Sydney Sprint: It was really tough for me to put this track lower than the top 3 because I really enjoyed racing on this track. The beautiful scenery, the different lap paths and the outstanding music. I really enjoyed racing on this one more than New York Minute purely because all 3 of those things made it a brilliant track. Why is it not top 3? Well simply because I prefer the top 3 courses, nothing else really. It's a joy to race through the Sydney Opera House and driving by an amusement park but, I guess it just wasn't enough to reach the top 3.

#3 Wii Mushroom Gorge: When I made my predictions for what I thought would be my favourite track in this wave, Wii Mushroom Gorge was number 1. I loved the style of Mushroom Gorge here as well as the fact that it's a really nostalgic track. The mushrooms are really fun to bounce and trick off of, the music is iconic and I really love how they incorporated features from both the Wii and 3DS Versions. It has the mushroom shortcut at the start, the Wii's mushroom placements in the cave and added the Blue Gliding Mushroom from Mario Kart 7, all the while some people can still do that sick shortcut trick at the very end of the course. It's an absolute blast racing on Wii Mushroom Gorge again however, it's not Top 2 as it's still a basic track with not that many challenges but hey, being simple and fun is definitely not a bad thing. The Top 2 tracks however are not only really fun and exciting but also have some challenge to them that makes me enjoy them a lot more.

#2 N64 Kalimari Desert: Holy Crap what have they done to N64 Kalimari Desert. Originally it was a pretty underrated track. I thought it was simply great to drive around a desert with relaxing music whilst a large, fast train gets in the way and hits racers. However, in Mario Kart 7, the train is a bit smaller and much slower so it's not as crazy, making the track not as chaotic as the original, although it did add a few gliding ramps which were great. As for the Switch Version? It starts of like Mario Kart 7's version with the slow train and the gliding ramps but come lap 2, a new platform is added and all of a sudden you're racing on the railway with the train now heading straight for you. It continues with Lap 3 when you drive through the short tunnel and continue to drive across the railway facing the train head on and finally finishing the race like normal. What a huge improvement. Going from a somewhat great track to a pretty mediocre one and finally becoming an absolute banger of a track. There was a custom track in Mario Kart Wii where you would drive on a railway and a train would face you head on and I always wanted to see something like that and sure enough, we got it as a surprise version of N64 Kalimari Desert. However, there's no doubt in my my mind that Number 1 is easily the best.

#1 DS Waluigi Pinball: Of course this is my Number 1; it's Waluigi freaking Pinball. What's not to love about it? It's visually stunning, it keeps the Mario Kart Tour aesthetic which I really like, the music is obviously a bop, the track is pretty challenging with some sharp turns, large pinballs flying around and the bumpers at the end pushing you of your path and the added sound effects return too when you go over a boost panel or get an item box. Every time I play a version of Waluigi Pinball I always have a smile on my face. Not only is it heavily nostalgic but, when you don't include that bias, this track is still by far the best in the franchise and they definitely made this version absolutely outstanding. Is it the best Waluigi Pinball version? I'm not too sure. The DS version is heavily nostalgic and I really enjoy that look of it, Mario Kart 7's was pretty much a cleaner version of the original and MK8 Deluxe boosted the visuals and changed the style to match Mario Kart Tours. Either way, each of the Waluigi Pinball tracks are phenomenal and this one is no exception. I think we can all agree that this track is at least in our Top 10 favourites (Unless you hate popular things in which is fair) But, DS Waluigi Pinball is no doubt my favourite track from MK8 Deluxe Wave 2.
