Palia has been my go to favourite farming sim. There's still a lot of room for improvement but it definitely scratches that farming itch, that desire for farm decorating, and the exploration that takes inspiration from Breath of the Wild. There are micro-transactions, but they are only for cosmetics, and is a free-to-play MMO. Plus they have some of the best written villagers in a farming sim, period. They feel so genuine and I love all of their interactions. The multiplayer aspect could be developed better, but what they have encourages a lot of cooperation and sharing. Highly recommend!

i have hokko life, it didnt click with me it felt like a cheap harvestmoon/animal crossing knock off, i have harvestella and i really enjoy it, the only issue i have other than the repetetive models that you mentioned, is the lack of character customisation, you get male or female thats it, it doesnt seem to have any romanceable characters that i've seen so far

Hm, I have Harvestella on my wishlist, though I didn't really give it much thought, just thought it looked nice there and then.
Now I might pick it up, but this list also made me want to mod Stardew Valley and just play that again for the 4th time or so.
I feel like an outlier bc i HATED coral island XD the beginning was waaaaay too much of a stardew ripoff in storyline and I didn't really like the art style, played about 3 hours and was like, nah

Sun Haven would be S+ tier even above Stardew valley IF it wasn't a grindfest with the local materials. I respect the 3 different biomas which add unique features to the game, but hear me out when I say it's a bad decision cloning the normal materials like wood, stone etc and make 3 different materials out of the SAME material just because you are in a different bioma, forcing you to grind triple OR skip 2 biomas and focus on one bioma. Maybe this was the point but it feels lackluster. Just let me use all the materials I have in the different biomas, or in some point of the game just force me to chose 1 bioma and swap all the materials to that one. All in all, the game is fantastic and I've done a crazy amount of hours, maybe more than Stardew valley.

I wasnt sure of i wanted to try Coral Island at first but this video made me try it out and i really like it so far. Ive obly played for 10 minutes and im already hooked

Coral Island is, sadly, completely broken at the moment on most platforms. There are constant crashes. I am a lifelong SoS / HM fan and this scratches an itch I needed… but I can't get over losing days and days of progress constantly. roll on the next set of fixes and patches.

After playing stardew from the day it came out I'm desperate to try to branch out to more farming games. I started off with harvest moon forget me not valley… chasing that high ever since lol.

Where Is Farming Simulator 22 by Giants software?! It is the best farming sim of all time! Giving you the most realistic experience to actual farming!
The buggyness of ever dream valley on the switch is more silly and funny than game breaking honestly and they have the polite wolves mode now
HI Iona. Love your channel and I'm slowly working my way through all your videos. I have a switch and have been looking for something close to Hay Day by Supercell. Maybe you know something similar? The closest one I can see (just by looking at the pictures and description) is 'Farm Together'. Haven't bought it though because I don't want to waste money.
still dont know which one to go with. I want to farm but not sure if i want to strickly farm. Seems like it would get boring. But also dont want to much combat or story that takes you away from the farming.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is def one of my most played games. One of my favorites. But it does get pretty boring once you get all the friendships and story quests done and having to wait for the next update. Otherwise I adored this game.
