  1. Just wanna say I love videos like this. With the amount of cards constantly being added it can be overwhelming to keep track and it's a nice reference to see what other players are doing with their collection, especially highlighting newer cards that fit into different strategies.

  2. Maybe give Alania from Bloomburrow a shot for Izzet spellslinger? I’ve struggled to put together a satisfying SS deck for a long time, but I recently built Alania and it’s been super fun! I don’t have a ton of play experience yet, but I think it’s a keeper.

  3. "it looks scary but after a boardwipe.or two it's really hard to get back into the game" thanks for describing every deck I own šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ love my tribal decks and I like world building with all the tribes I have super fun though it's funny because I'm the tomer in my group basically the only one that plays removal I stay trying to keep the board in check

    My decks are

    Dragons

    Grumgully +1/+1 counters

    Mono black artifact recursion

Giants this ones my favorite and is definitely my baby deck for sure

    Spirits

    Elves

Then I have a few that are under construction or have been taken apart

    Taken apart
Esper urza deck forgot the name of the commander just got stale in gameplay

Flying tribal azorius felt to easy so it got turned into my spirit deck

Grumgully goblins used to be gobos but wasnt a fan of how the deck played so I leaned all the way into +1/+1 counters

Trample tribal same with flying it just got stale a handful of these cards went to grumgully counters

Spellslinger I tried so hard to make it work but for some reason I just can't get it right

    Under construction

Giants yes its complete but I find fun cards for it every day it runs morophon at the helm 3 colors atm didnt think adding black or green was really worth it

Goblins still trying to find a home for them after being cut from grumgully unsure what to do with them

Spellslinger really want to do something new so im constantly trying to make it work i struggle to balance pay offs and actual instant and sorcerys while still including everything i actually need like removal ramp and such

  4. Amazing day Tomer thank you for your content.

I really want to highlight that this is probably my favorite type MTG video to date. I hope more content creators reproduce this content.

Always love and laughter in your life and cheers šŸ™‚

  5. my favorite deck of mine is ALSO a Boros equipment deck headed by Akiri, Fearless Voyager (though it does not run Kaldra). I ran an equipment deck as my first casual 60 card deck before Commander was an official format, and was hyped to bring that deck back to life when Akiri was printed.

  6. Speaking of pet unicorn wincons, I checked off Azor's Elocutors!

I was inspired to build my Perrie weird-counters-matter deck because of it, and it won me a game last week that I had no business even surviving. It was a definite marathon, I was nearly out of gas, taxed out of replaying Perrie, then top-decked the Elocutors, had to explain them twice, and made it back to my upkeep at 5 life. The Zedruu player wasn't going to make it to their next turn, wanted to go home, had a Delusions of Grandeur, but couldn't quite kill the current archenemy. He picked the Arbaaz Mir player, mostly for having >10 life left, who would have hard-countered Elocutors had he untapped (and probably killed me incidentally in doing so). I had a Karn's Bastion activation and one meaningful spell in hand: Broker's Confluence! A handful of Proliferates later, and I filibustered them to death!

Seemed a fitting way to end a long, swingy game. If either of my non-Zedruu opponents untapped I was pretty likely dead.

  7. My most played decks recently are the faster and more powerful ones as my main playgroup has been an arms race recently , luckily I also play with a lower powered group where I’m able to bring out the more unique and fun decks

  8. Your article on the Changeling deck is the reason I have one of my newer and cooler decks, and I want to share the story.

I pulled a Morophon the Boundless in a lucky door pack at a Commander Night over a year ago – and the idea to build a deck with all manner of tribes was immediately there. Cut to several months ago when I started trying to find the cards to build an initial plan for the deck – a few tribal lords that would give creatures buffs or benefits when I played them. I even had the idea to restrict myself to one of any colour pip in the mana costs so that whatever creature type I chose with Morophon would get significantly discounted (maybe I should rework my current list to reflect that initial idea, who knows?).

But my biggest problem was… I had no idea what I was doing. I was building the deck in pseudo-secret and had no clue what to fill the deck with and how much of what things. So I took to Google to try and find some guides on Morophon Shapeshifter Tribal – and that's where I found it.

An article from someone named Tomer titled "Budget Commander: Morophon Everything Tribal" (I still have the article bookmarked) and it was a gold mine. It was a list of cards I could work with for every action I could take, on any budget, provided some gameplan ideas, and was up-to-date with cards for the categories that came out years after the articles was written.

So I got to work. I made a list of the Changelings I wanted to run, a list of the lands/ramp I wanted, interaction, card draw, removal, and most importantly the tribal payoffs. I even took the two gameplans mentioned in the article – Combat and Un/Tap Shenanigans – and decided to put them together.

The article was well written, comprehensive despite me struggling with written text, and allowed me to take an idea which, while sadly not the BlankAurora Original that I initially hoped it would be, was still a very unique take on a tribal deck and one of the most unique decks I have. And is a deck I'm very proud of and has the hallmark of being the first deck I built in my now four years in the game with almost no input from other people.

All of this is to say: Thank you for writing that article five years ago, you are the reason why I was even able to finish the deck in the first place.

  9. Your dragon list seems similar to mine but I run Zirilan of the Claw at the helm for a lower power, more interactable, dump in your dragons to the battlefield. Makes it a little easier to get reps in

  11. Etrata, Deadly Fugitive has been my favorite lately. I run it with almost no intention of flipping cloaked cards and then pull out Eldrazi Monument with a board full of 2/2 ward 2’s. I had a mono blue theft deck that got targeted at every table immediately but somehow Etrata gets away with it, if the players don’t know what the card was and they didn’t get to play it first, it’s less feels bad and when they finally get them back they have that ā€œI knew it!ā€ reaction. Best cards to steal and flip are removal spells from other colors šŸ˜‚

  12. Im just gonna do it just because:

    1) Chishiro (gruul aura/equip/+1+/1): It plays as a really chill combat damage deck when suddenly things spiral out of control and there's many masive creatures that are also unblockeable thanks to Champion og Lambhot

    2) Monoblack Kenrith reanimator: It only has 4 non black cards, one Elesh Nor and 3 green ramp spells to set up cabal/urborg/nykthos shenanigans. It is a really powerful deck that becomes the archenemy quite fast. The fun part is that it manages to hold a 1v3 for a moment then either wins with value or gets crushed. It's a really cool concept and Im proud of my deck

    3) Urza, artificer leader: Yeah it's an artifact deck but mostly is the deck that has all the strong interaction that I own like Cyclonic and Fow. I dont usually like those kind of powerful cards but I thought putting them all in a shell that I like was a cool idea and I do play it a lot (TBH it was Shorikai but then I found the dimir Tezzeret in my collection so I pivoted)

    4) Imoti+Keruga cascade: Long story short, I add Keruga as my Pokemon to make it faster and more casual, and it ended up been too strong. So 80% of the 3 and 4 MV cards are ramp, so Imoti is likely to ramp when casted, so if it dies I can do it again next turn. One turn of untapping with Imoti is probably game, so I dont use it quite often, as I dont like that playstyle that much.

    5) Zada: This was my first commander back in 2017 and it was heaps fun. Nowadays I just realised it's basically a storm deck with extra steps, which is fun but… Yeah

  13. That unsleeved deck was gold! I played a draft tourney the other day going one round unsleeved until I couldn’t handle it anymore. All while my opponent shuffled his deck unsleeved like a poker dealer! I was a kid again for one round but that’s it. Go Tomer go with your juice deck box.

  14. Hello mister Tomer !

I never closely engaged with MTGGoldfish, but through some of your peers, on an EDH game somewhere, I heard you say something like "This feels strange to me to play with real cards since I play so much online". I thought, "Well, we are liking different things, farewell."

So I launched the video, because I love this concept because your creations talk about you, but not expecting anything really.
You said "Kalamax", I thought "so Basic." and stood up to do stuff ; you added "with Arcane spells", I came back down on my chair and listened to the whole video with interest.

Hey, I'll sometimes watch the videos of this channel where you are solo now.

Have a nice day, from France
