Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s status is up in the air for Week 4’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Could a change be a-brewing?
Garoppolo suffered a concussion during Sunday night’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The ex-49ers quarterback didn’t have to exit the game for a head injury, but he was examined for a concussion after the loss and had to enter concussion protocol.
Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said he didn’t know if it was one hit or “an accumulation of hits” that caused Garoppolo to hurt his head. On one play in the fourth quarter, Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick hit the Raiders quarterback and the force knocked Garoppolo’s head to the ground, which could be the most concrete evidence of how Garoppolo picked up his concussion.
Regardless, Garoppolo may not be able to suit up in time for this upcoming Sunday’s 4:05 p.m. ET game against the Chargers. If that’s the case, beat reporter Vincent Bonsignore suggests the team may consider starting rookie Aidan O’Connell as a potential long-term replacement.

Las Vegas also has backup veteran Brian Hoyer on the roster, who would admittedly be the safer short-term option. Assuming Garoppolo didn’t suffer a severe head injury, he may only miss a week of action at most. Having Hoyer play in Garoppolo’s absence feels like the move the Raiders would make if they had complete and utter trust in Garoppolo playing the rest of the season.

I dont understand the people asking for mark to sell the team. Mark is not a football guy. He makes no football decisions. Hes a buisness man. He has an inner circle of employees that make football decisions for him. Selling the team will change nothing besides whos profitting off this franchise
Quite honestly, with the way Ziegler evaluates his draft picks…I don’t care to see AOC at this point. Id rather keep Jimmy in, lose as many games as possible this season. Get Williams or Maye, with a new Staff. Get a coach like McDaniel, Dan Campbell, someone players actually want to play for.

It all falls on the Organization, if they can't get the right coaches and right players together then the team will not be successful no matter where they are. Vegas is a destination, but it's a destination for everyone else as well. Without the right product on the field, Raiders fans aren't gonna show out.

I love the show Wasted. I didn't discover Plymouth Rock but I felt McDaniels was one of the worst coaching hires. I hated McDaniels not because he was a patriot but he's a known weasel and proved incompetent in Denver. I don't expect you to hate on the Raiders but like to give my opinion as well.
Whether he's a realistic option or not, Garoppalo ain't it. We need to see what we have in AOC to know if we have to draft a QB or not.
Mark Davis throwing out the Welcome mat to visiting teams. Come Wipe those feet here. Davis is all about the bag now. Visiting teams will spend that money to come to Vargas on a Vacation and watch their team win. Gamble and go home. Vegas just holds you upside down and shakes the coin out your pocket.

Honestly, I see no harm in letting AOC go this week, Hoyer I have thought was brought on cause with him having alot of time in McDaniels offense he could help the other 2 qb's, but you are not going any where with him. So let Jimmy G get healthy, start AOC, if he balls out then its a great problem to have, if he doesnt then its just 1 game and let Jimmy G take back over. At some point the raiders need to know what they have and the way shit is going McD doesnt have much time to figure it out.

We all knew this was going to happen when they moved to Vegas. Expensive town and bill bills to pay off. We knew the tickets would be expensive. We knew Vegas is a huge tourist attraction. People would obviously be more willing to come to Vegas to watch their team than Oakland. Especially when they know they’re team is more than likely going to win. Owners obviously care about winning! Winning product equals more tickets sales, season ticket holders, merchandise and more national air time. Wins means more $ for everyone in Vegas. But with that said yes they’re still making a ton of money with a losing product. I’m sick and tired of hiring a new coach and firing him a season or two later. I’m trying to keep the faith in this leadership. Nobody knows the conversations between MD and Zieg AND JMCD behind closed doors but I hope MD has an exit strategy. I applaud him for trying to figure things out and doing things differently than his dad but so far none of his decisions is working out. This is season 2 for this team. They need to show progression. If they do I’m willing to give them 1 more year. If not start lining up potential HC candidates.

All roads point to collective amnesia around Jimmy G's competence. With this team, right now, Jimmy is having a hard time executing in this offense. Watching the tape you can see he's got time, and still making bad choices. Combine it with the happy feet and teams challenging his arm, and you end up with less than 20 points a game.
