Early short-yardage miscues on offense ruined quality field position for the Raiders, and big plays for the Colts offense in the first half set the table for a robust Indianapolis run game in the second half that sealed their victory. Late penalty flags by the Raiders closed the door on a potential comeback for the road team.
Here are the winners and losers for the week, after the Raiders failed to capitalize on momentum from their Christmas Day win against the Chiefs.
Winner: WR Davante Adams
Wide receiver Davante Adams was targeted an incredible 21 times as the Raiders turned to a pass-happy game plan in the first half and then played from behind all afternoon.
Adams delivered with 13 catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns, including an impressive late grab late to bring the Raiders within 3 points of the Colts. The ensuing onside kick was recovered by Indianapolis, ending the game.
Adams surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the season, his fourth consecutive campaign topping that mark.
Harbaugh has been connected to NFL jobs for the past couple of seasons. In 2021, he interviewed for the Vikings job before Kevin O’Connell was hired. Last offseason, he reportedly had discussions about openings with the Broncos and Panthers.
While it’s still uncertain if Harbaugh would leave his alma mater after taking over the program in 2015, the hiring of Yee certainly points in that direction. Yee is known for having a number of NFL clients, including Payton, Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and most notably, Brady, who was his first big-time client.
So the fact that Harbaugh is hiring an agent known to have high-profile NFL clientele does not look good about the potential of re-signing with Michigan.
It’s unclear when Yee was hired by Harbaugh, and if he had any involvement in the previously reported contract offer from the university. The Wolverines head coach was not asked about the hire in his final press conference on Sunday before the Rose Bowl.

If Harbaugh does decide to return to the NFL, there will be a number of teams that could be interested in the services of the former 49ers head coach.
The Chargers, Raiders and Panthers made midseason coaching changes and will be looking to make full-time hires this offseason. The Commanders, Falcons and Bears, among others, could also be looking for new coaches once the season ends.

Do you know what is so funny. When we the Raiders win a game and AOC does fairly good job and we somewhat kick ass then AP is the best coach for the raiders and O’Connell is worth giving a shot. But let us lose a game and now we don’t know if AP is our man and definitely O’Connell is not a good quarterback. He’s a rookie learning just like every other quarterback NFL has done, you don’t just walk in and be the best of the best it just does not work that way and our coach AP is one coach I’m not ready to let go that man’s going to get us where we haven’t been in 40 plus years.
