Raiders Draft News | Tariq Woolen To The Las Vegas Raiders At #86 | Player Profile | Raider Honcho

The Las Vegas Raiders could look to add a speedy corner to the roster in the 2022 NFL Draft. Is Tariq Woolen from UTSA the pick at #86? Here is my player profile for Tariq Woolen.

  1. It’s obvious new regime wants to draft at least 1-2 corners since huge majority of the players they met/show interest in are corners plus I’m guessing they wanna have the Secondary area be (besides the DL) the strongest area of the defense.

  2. What’s his game speed? If he couldn’t show out in college what’s makes someone think he’s going to do it against pro’s? Can he tackle? Does he have “oily” hips?

  3. 1. 90+% chance he's gone at 86
    2. Raw athlete, needs to sit and learn – do we not want a year 1 contributor with our top pick? We can get that at most other positions (LB, OG, DT, Saf, RB, WR).
    3. Another CB, Marcus Jones, might be a better choice – he's short, but he's a fighter, and would add elite kick return ability as a rookie… and there's a decent chance he will actually be there at 86.

  4. Hey Raider Honcho. Keep keepin it real bruh. Look um🤔 I like Woolen's potential and as you mentioned, the things he does that can't be taught. But the fact that he can't tackle. He takes bad angle's and is not a big hitter. Which btw, is my problem with Trayvon Moehrig. But anyway, are you familiar with Damarri Mathis from Pitt and Cam Taylor-Britt from Nebraska? I have those two on top of my board for the Raiders. Both Mathis and Taylor-Britt are versatile, which is needed in the Graham defense. They are both excellent press/bump n run corners that can cover, tackle, and zone up! Agree?

  5. To me, even though Woolen runs 4.2 like Honcho said, he's a developmental player. But this would be an old school Al Davis pick lol. He might be trying to dig out of his grave right now to draft him 😆

  6. Raiders should draft wr christian Watson or wr Jalen Tolbert or wr Chris o, Drake London, if none of those guys are left by our draft pick then draft wr wan dale Robinson or wr Calvin Austin or wr Danny gray or wr Eric ezukanma, or wr Jameson Williams

  7. This would be a solid pick that would add depth. Yea he's a project guy but we now have the proper staff and system to coach the guy up. I think this would be worth the shot because if he can get his technique sharp this will be a big steal. But I'm seeing some projections having him go in the second round
