When will the US military learn that taking multiple mission roles and smooshing them into 1 piece of equipment never really works without heavily simplifying the equipment. A stealth bomber, fighter, flying aircraft carrier sounds like great idea but it will be so insanely expensive that you'll end up spending more than just making a stealth bomber and a stealth fighter and using a boat to move them from continent to continent.
Suggestion: make the S-97 raider video before you make the one I just watched. I'd still watch both, but man, how have you not done a video on THAT thing?!
I saw one of these flying on South Fort Hood at Operational Test Command. It looked amazing and was so sleek compared to the Blackhawks.

I loved the Comanche. Played the simulation game back in the 90s. It's a shame, the Comanche wasn't picked up by the US Army but I guess the writing was on the wall that drones will replace most of the roles of a recon helo.

This is the typical way of things to do with most military programs they start with a reasonable requirement then keep adding on to it over and over till they have run up development cost to huge amounts then congress or others start WHY it costs so much for a simple development as asked for at start without knowing all the changes requested or just overlooking those changes and how that delays development and then they decide that it would be more effective to just upgrade the old stuff anyway.Australia did this when it decided to go with the tiger attack helo instead of the Apache due to the usual Australian excuse of the well developed existing product being said to be nearing its possible development life and so to become obsolite quicker and so being less of a good investment and so they go with something that looks at face value as cheaper and with years of development still be done so upgrades will be easier and cheaper. Then when they start to rerquest changes to the off the shelf item to make it suitable to local requirements and conditions they find that they are faced with costs of almost total redesign of everything but the basic airframe and so a package that on initial proposal is like 60% cheaper than another suddenly becomes 200% more expensiveand like tiger starts to suffer from loss of performance or abilities that are seen as must have requirements. If private business did business did procurement like this they would fail in months or some years at best but because it is government backed this is not a problem as the contracts usually have such large cancelation penalities some times it ends up cheaper to cut numbers ordered and just accept substandard final products than to quit and pay the penalities.
Slap on a couple of thrusters and change the name to Airwolf…

When I was in AIT at Ft. Rucker AL I got to fly in 1 of the 2 Comanche simulators. The guy kinda got pissed when he figured out I wasn't a pilot after I crashed in about 30sec.
13:58 military wanting this helicopter to fly across the ocean on its own– that's like demanding that it also be able to fly to the moon and back lol– absolutely stupid. A 43 hour non-stop flight (2 days + 2 nights continuous flying non-stop no breaks, if they stop they die!) , with two pilots per each cramped helicopter, across the ocean in zero visibility ocean storms unable to fly above the cloud layer and at night? Whomever military "expert" damanded that should have been instantly fired and laughed out of the room.
Take a look at the Sikorsky S-67 and you'll see the improvement's that were made for the RAH-66 Commanche…

Instead, do they send in a couple of A10 Warthogs and just shred the target? At all the 100's of 1000's that costs for a full clip, makes you wonder about the politics.
