My head canon for the phantom units:
Instead of being ghosts or resurrected spirits, they are the manifestations of the knights martial prowess and unfulfilled oaths to their masters. At least for me, it explains why they only exist in battle and why only the Ordo has access to them.

I think my favorite thing about the Ordo Templarius units, besides from just how over all amazing the design and animations are, it's gotta be their Color scheme, it reminds me of the Night Lords legion from 40k, which is my second favorite chaos legion, next to the Alpha Legion
So…yes, you can take that other settlement with a landmark next to Nongchang. There is an interesting side effect though.
I just want to point out that the mass upgrade in tech tree breaks the cav and makes them grail knights on steroids. My cav had around 307500 mass.
