A large crowd gathered on Town Quay and in Mayflower Park here in Southampton on Friday 3rd May 2024 to watch the βQueen Anneβ Cunardβs new addition to the Cunard Fleet of Ships set sail on her maiden voyage to A Coruna.
She departed from the Mayflower Cruise Terminal at 21:15pm and this special occasion was marked by a wonderful firework display which lit up the night sky watched by many including a small flotilla of small boats on the water.

Watched this live last night online, absolutely brilliant, perfect timing for the fireworks.
Thanks for sharing this – what a send off she got. Welcome home, Queen Anne!
Beautiful ship thanks for the brilliant video as usual and wish you both well
What a fantastic video thank-you for sharing you never disappoint us perfect πββοΈππππ
Nice looking ship steve, do you know what tonnage she is ?
Beautifully "filmed" Steve. These modern ships are so slab-sided. The last ship with a graceful hull was QE2. She had a lovely curve from stem to stern. I suppose you could say that Queen Anne herself was a bit slab-sided. It looks like the fireworks were coming from the military port at Cracknore Hard, or were they using her for target practice?
Thanks for sharing!!
Great video! Thanks so much Steve! π
Hello Steve a historic moment in Southampton nicely recorded by your camera skills- thank you Regards Lynneπ
Thank you, Steve, for another atmospheric video that you excel at. It was a night to remember with the long awaited debut of a new Queen – the fireworks were very impressive. It looks as though Cunard is entering a new era of more contemporary design both with the exterior and interior furnishings. Hoping to experience her soon. π€π€π³π³
Thank you Steve – great video. Weβre booked on her for a Norway cruise next month so it was really good to see her leave on her maiden voyage.
NO THANK YOU! What a hellishly huge cruise ship!
Amazing video! I hope Queen Anne one day visits Puerto Rico.
One of the ugliest ships ever. What the hell has happened.
