Winding down for the end of 2022, John, Rich and Alex decided to polish off the year’s work by looking at the recently released path-traced version of Quake played in multiplayer mode in both campaign coop and deathmatch! As usual, Rich chose the lowest-end hardware available, playing path-traced Quake using nothing more than an RTX 3050 – the slowest desktop RT Nvidia card. Alex opted for an RTX 3080 while John is on RTX 4090. Just a bit of fun – but if you have just a fraction of the fun we had in playing it, you should find it quite entertaining.

That first telefrag just cracked me up! Loved it.
John is the WinRar! 🙂
Do you guys think this would run OK on My rx 6600xt at 1080p?
Love this !
this was great! I really hope Q2 gets a remake/remaster. one of my top 3 of all time! spent so much tim in MP playing modes like freeze tag, rocket arena, etc, endless memories
You should talk to your union rep when your employer telefrags you on the job!
When you guys need to change your stream profile pictures to show damaged the way some of the old games used to .
Cute
QUUUUUUUAKKKKEEEE!
aside from the command line for changing the water color, another command line i highly recommend putting in is RT_Flashlight " " this will cast a light in front of you like a flashlight and make it much easier to navigate the game since ray tracing makes the game a whole lot darker. just put a number value where the " " marks are. 0 equals off essentially and any number higher increases the light intensity. i find that 43 is just about perfect.
Wholesome episode. I was blown away by how good Q1RT looks. Extremely atmospheric, glitchless, and runs really well. Happy New Year DF!
Spent so much time on quake, quake2 DM, online and LAN. Infinite maps and mods in the end.. will never be topped.
What were you fellas drinking to get you all so sassy?
I’d love to see more of this
Rich and his force lightning!!! He is really Palpatine
This isn’t the DF three way I was wanting but it’s the we needed
This is great to watch while playing marvel snap.🎮
This was truly a gift and an absolutely hilarious holiday video.
LOL @ Alex telefragging John to get things started. A gameplay mechanic that never gets old. 😂I laughed at seeing this just as much as when I telefragged a friend recently when playing Doom II for GBA, using the MiSTer core to play on separate CRT & HDMI/digital displays together through the campaign. Luckily I caught that on recording also. Thanks for all the entertainment and insight this year, DF crew- happy new years and cheers to a great 2023! 🍻
The lava looks like glowing pizza topping!
This is the digital foundery video of all time
Alex playing Quake like a console jockey. Shocking.
We need quake arena with rtx
We should see more of these mulitplayer gameplays with DF crew. IT was surprisingly funny to watch them casually sweating in PvP.
I'm in love with the look of old polygonal games with heavy RT-effects. Now I want new games with that look!
This is great, it's cool to see you all having a blast, would love to see more video's like this too. Happy new year DF team!
It makes sense that Alex is most down with the kids – he is the closest to them in age after all!
I'll never understand the hate towards free, community driven mods like this. PC gaming had its roots in community driven ideas, the modding scene is not only still big today it was even more so in the 90s and 00s. But not only that, this mod and every other of SultimT's mods quite truthfully don't take away from the originals which can still be played easily today. Hell Quake 1 had a remaster in 2021.
People need to lighten up a bit.
35:50 In Quake 4 you could/can shoot through projectiles (rockets, grenades, plasma balls, nails) portals. But I guess everybody forgot about that game…
JOHN IS THE WINRAR
HAHAHHAHAHAH
This was very entertaining, even goofing around these guys still give deliver good stuff. I lost it at John getting fed up and using noclip cheat to find the key haha. I was rooting for Rich in the deathmatch, but John had to spoil everything lol.
John: (to Richard) Hold your horses, buddy! Where are you goin' ?
Richard: I didn't see any toilets. So, I thought we were just gonna crack'on
Rich is just the coolest guy. What an upload! Thank you so much guys …
Well, apparently there was/is a "gang" of (mostly male) children, essentially spread over every continent of the earth …
… which got/get "tempted" to access to video games for "FREE"! Which was/is, of course, illegal.
And to my utter surprise "John" was part of that gang. HOLY SMOKES!
I suddenly hear handcuffs rattling in the background … Could be the cops!
Here's hoping this becomes a semi regular if not regular series lol. That was awesome.
Best video ever! Love Quake, and DF 🙂 Happy New Year from Sweden!
It was a missed opportunity not to have John using an AMD card, Alex using an Nvidia card, and Richard using an Intel card.
Alex got rekt
I love the unfiltered DF team gaming
I built my first custom desktops with parts from CompUSA
42:03–44:02 is pure hilarity.
Do more of this kind of videos. It would be cool if one of you will running Intel Arc with Ray traced games
"I would characterise your performance thus far as shameful Alex" – Rich tells it how it is!
Wait, there is the entirety of TWO percent of the audience who are female? This is like, 4 times more than I anticipated
How is Alex fighting an inanimate setting more than active players?
