Qantas CEO provides update on frequent flyer program

Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson has provided an update on the airline’s frequent flyer program.

Ms Hudson said the company has been focused on “addressing the pain points” that customers have highlighted.

“Particularly we have focused on improving reliability, delivering better on time performance and reducing cancellations,” she said on Monday.

She announced the airline is launching a new ‘Classic Plus’ program for frequent flyer customers.

“This is the biggest investment in frequent flyer rewards in the 35-year history of the Qantas frequent flyer program.”

  1. Another verbal diarrhoea lie, Qantas is Qantas and they will talk the sell but are very slow to walk the talk. They only support the Platinum frequent flyers those down the food chain get forgotten, I was a Platinum and when I finished flying regularly they gave me a life membership in Gold which is absolutely useless and when I fly now it does not mean a thing it does not get me any preference or any thanks for all the money spent with them flying around the world doing business. She said she listens well time she had a function and meet with the other end of the flyer program and listened to them as I am sure there are a lot more of them that fills the back of the aircraft and without them the plane will not fly, so if you want to be seen as doing good then start listening to the rank and file numbers……..

  2. So much resources on developing, maintaining and marketing a rewards program.

Imagine if Qantas simply cut these costs (by scrapping the rewards program).

Flights could be cheaper. Profit could be higher. Salaries could be better. Their service could be improved.

  3. To improve the on-board experience on Intl. flights bring back METAL CUTLERY. I would love to see Vanessa Hudson eating her steak or similar
with a wooden knife and fork !! What a joke, just check out other airlines like SQ, EVA, China Airlines etc. etc. all offering metal cutlery.
