  1. incredible we are 30 years now for these two amazing albums. There was nothing like going to a record store, seeing a new release or hearing this new sound for the first time. Then sampling the album there and buying that CD/Record/Tape and playing it full

  2. No one question the Rolling Stones still rocking selling arenas and mad albums, no one question listening to Led Zep Jimmy THe Doors etc. We need to keep celebrating and supporting our heroes. Peace and 1 luv

  4. As heralded as this release date is (and rightfully so), I can't be the only one who did not realize these two albums were same-day releases until much later. As crazy as it sounds retrospectively, 36 Chambers was not anticipated by the hip hop community as much as Doggystyle or even Mauraders. I had no idea who Wu-Tang was at the time. I remember my boy playing the entire 36 Chambers tape for a group of us during a smoking session in January '94. I instantly got that same feeling I'd had when I heard albums such as Raising Hell, Paid In Full, Nation Of Millions and The Chronic for the first time. The landscape of hip hop shifted right before my ears. I'd never heard anything remotely close to this. Little did I realize at the time this was just the beginning of the Wu-Tang Invasion. Hip hop would never be the same again.

As far as Mauraders, as much as Low End instantly made Tribe one of my favorite groups (along with Run DMC, EPMD and Gang Starr), Midnight Mauraders made them THE absolute favorite. It was the perfect album that resonated with the hip hip heads, street guys and the hipsters simultaneously. It takes a special group to reach EVERY demographic. I know we've kinda reached the point where there's nothing new under the sun but just the memories associated with albums such as these are why I'll die a Hip Hop Head. Salute Rza and Tip for their roles in these master works, as well as all the group members of both legendary collectives.
