This looks terrible. Sorry takes up too much time.
Also, can you tell Scopely to put the drop down list and the tiles for the favors in the same order? How many people looked at that and didn't say anything?
I enjoyed this beta test. I'm mostly pve and this arena allows me to do short pvp bursts without getting tied down like doing event sms.
Bugs and issues aside (that's what the test was for, right?), that was the most fun I've had in the game for a long time. I'm hoping that the players that don't want to pvp, at least give it a go, because it's fun. Having playing other games previously with matchmaking, etc, can be interesting, but found wait times low. It's great to have some new adrenalin/dopamine hits back in the game 🙂
2 hours?
Didn’t even notice this was a thing. 🤷🏻♂️
Paring of this was not so good, we had one that was way too high to compete against, level 57 against level 46 etc 🙁 and a warning on all ships get recalled to base automatically without any warning when starting an Arena, so if you are mining in Token space…you ship gets pulled back to base… Pairing really needs to be tweaked to make it more enjoyable…
Because waves was such a massive success ….. here's something that takes more focus and concentration 😂
Hey Deuce, ok I played last night and covering your topics I didn't really experience lag but the player match ups were terrible. you actually highlight our crew in you video at the 2.39 min, I'm in SOTA Unit 92940618 and while this match was sometimes even as this match was, one match after this the opposition had one player whos ship was 500 mill ,our whole side is not even close to that so matchmaking needs to be worked out much much better, I would have thought that it would be pretty simple eg total of all ships in one side vs same total roughly in the other but when you get such a huge variation its not good and from some players who I spoke to they may not play again because of it. Fix the match ups and all would be good, its not hard
how do you start an ingame ticket these days. i can find no link. Trevor at the STFC website told me to put in an ingame ticket and then left the chat without telling me where to find such a link….
Match up was terrible, hopefully it will improve. In one example highest player on one side was 62. Lowest player on the other was 62, with highest being 68. 11.5b cube vs 1.6b D'deridex. Lag wasn't bad. Mechanics seemed to work ok and wasn't overly complicated. Pass, but needs tweaking.
Counter point to the two hour grind, Military Supremacy exists and that usually takes much longer than 2 hours.
What were the matching levels? Any 40 player having to battle a 50 player is wrong.
My alliance tried to be competitive, but were slammed by a larger alliance. We received 0 point for our efforts. Also some players had difficulty in joining as well.
if u get mismatched you just suicide on the 70 or just stop playing
i went up.against a 70 a few times, i cant fight a tier 9 velox with speed crew
the thing to do is probably keep your squads as tight as possible, 5* players are much better off because g6 scaling per ship between uncommon or rare or epic is exponential, less so in previous generations. and plz get rid of 2 min repairs
Allot of ppl still cant handle waves, this is like 20x harder, but 400 points for lose will make more ppl try it
i am not looking forward to the new vindicator ship being in this pvp store mostly cause its refinery is REQUIRED to have.
The rewards need to be increased 100x fold. Otherwise the time needed is far too much to make this worthwhile.
The lag was so bad on PC I couldn't do anything but die. Had to play on my phone.
Either you win with ease, or get stomped into the ground. There was not much in between.
No problem with new content bout they need to remove aswell or nothing is funn ,
I am in apac, but yeah, beyond the matching, limiting it to each alliance will find certain members missing out, and small alliances unable to enter, I was in one arena match, early on, was stomped on due to matching, my alliance never started others that I was able to join, in fear of that match making. Other players from other alliances were completely locked out, no hope of getting 5 people of appropriate level together, this has a deflationary impact on the overall feel. It should be at the server level like waves, rather than an alliance level.
nope, i'm not doing it untill they will introduce luck factor in pvp
They are trying to make a MMO with different Online Games built in out of something that started as a mobile game with people that joined because its a mobile game.
People dont have that much time to actively invest into a mobile game.
Cant wait for people going afk during the matchmaking and you are the only one actively going into the match.
Just another grind, no thanks.
Just way too much in this game now! It's no longer fun. Just a massive time commitment. Don't think I will be logging much in future.
"Those of you who don't want to PvP don't have to… it is a separate part of the game… Oh, and by the way, if you don't, you'll miss out on huge research and efficiency favors… so therefore, you have to PvP…"
I'm in APAC 201 and played many arena battles over the 3hr time period we had – infact you've showed one of our very few losses (MajorDaximoron). It took a couple of go's to get into the full swings but we soon found ourselves working well together as a team, being able to create an effective strategy to win. Yes, there were moments as you can see in your screenshot we had a team with a lv70, to which we just took the loss and got ready for the next battle. Somestimes we were evenly matched, sometimes we were overpowered… You don't lose the same amount of points as you do when you win, so a loss wasn't a huge issue; plus next round you can swap members from your power bracket ready for the next round. I think we lost 4 of matches, with our last match against lv56-66 we should have lost (we won 472-413), showing that no matter who you're up against, if your team can work well together you can punch teams higher than you – which is a total boost to your pvp confidence.
Thx Rev
I think one of the things that could help reduce the load on the servers to help reduce the lag, is give us a way to exchange all the useless defunct unused in game currencies in game that we all have from prior events to something we can actually use.. give us the ability to exchange those currencies for Lantinum.. 🤔 how about actually making the Alliance Starbase actually useful for making these exchanges, and the ability to exchange resources between Alliance Members instead of it being a completely useless waste of an in game mechanic that provides nothing
The only way I'm interested in this is if the Wave Defense loop gets cut. Make Waves 5 rounds or payout 3x the credits and then I'll be more interested in a new screen time sink like this arena garbage. Also 10 minutes a match is way too long, other arena games where that's literally the game itself are 3-5 minute matches. 10 MINUTES + FORM UP TIME IS RIDICULOUS AND INSULTING TO EVERY PLAYERS REAL LIFE
I'm probably going to play around with this but it won't be a focus. It will go on the list of things I don't often do, like Waves and Voyager stuff.
Another issue is that this is happening on Mining Monday. If you're pulled into an Arena match, your miners get recalled.
It’s becoming a job. I’ve got a job.
Zero mention of points for PvP. It’s a PvP arena. How lucrative is it to blow people up? That is the information I need. I mean after I snort some Red Bulls and back alley feline anxiety meds, I plan on going in there and PvP’ing TF out of the opposing team. So, roughly, how many points for murder?
I'm concerned that those that already think its crazy that their level 50 ship can be attacked by a level 70 ship this is exponentially more powerful will get put up against ships 10 levels higher the first go and then never give the arena another chance. There are a lot of people that are already scarred playing this game. If people have bad experiences up front they will just not participate at all or just join to lose which kind of ruins the whole thing.
Have heard that the amount needed for pulls decreases with rep level. Should be a grind at first but then get much better
Can’t seem to chat on discord or here (I can guess why). Do you think they will sort the main play screen out anytime soon? It’s so cluttered these days! Even war mode button there still way too much! TIA server 178 Knappster ✌️
Rev with this PVP event becoming a fixture, can you do a vid of the top 5 PVP and PVE primes / F Tech that would help alongside crewing? Some are old or outdated, so would be interested in what the current meta would be?
This video is very helpful as a guide before trying the arena out here in Europe. I was worried about mismatches (70 and 4 40s would beat most average matches) and lag, but will definitely give it a try now. Quite often a 3 chest pull in the game is poor value and sticking to 2 chest is quicker and easier over time, so the play time may not be too bad.
What's the damn point? The match mater will put you against a far more powerful team, you lose, you make them even more powerful due to the payout
Levels 40 to 53 get matched against each other. Why would I want to do this at all if I'm level 52 or below, when I'm most likely be facing a L53 bunch? This whole thing is a hard pass for me.
This would be a great idea if there were any strategy in going against the higher Ops, but that video showed a 64 in the match with a 50. There is such a power disparity among Ops that it cant ever seem fair. You cant bring in multiple ships and combine their attack to take out a larger Ops at all. Until such a mechanic can be brought in, this will always be a very one-sided mechanic.
Rev you still play on 43?
Maybe I missed a detail, but I think there is no actual PVP. You kill hostiles, you do a solo Armada, then your group does a group armada… The hypothetical of your 40 ship being destroyed by a 70 ship doesn't exist.
When you get matched with a bunch of 60s you just dont bother at all.. A loss should pay 60 to 70% the amount of a win I lean towards 70% so people are not wasting so much time and What you notice is if one team has the strongest ship they win period
Why not just increase the Drops rather than opening it up all week just make it take 30mins..
