Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, has said Finland joining NATO is “historic” and will provide an “ironclad security guarantee”.
He added that “it was actually the invasion of Ukraine last year that led to the decision by Finland and Sweden to apply for NATO membership” and that Putin “wanted less NATO along his borders”.
