Kings and Generals animated historical documentary series on Modern Warfare continues with the aftermath of the first phase of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine in 2022 (https://youtu.be/yBZPE9o2gHU). Previously we talked about the build-up to the new stage of the Russo-Ukrainian War, how Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine continued, and covered events between February 24th and April 7th, as we saw how Ukraine managed to win the first phase of the war. This set up the second phase of the war – battle of Donbas. We covered the events of April of 2022 (https://youtu.be/K2N_fHKrWIg) including the sinking of the rocket cruiser Moskva – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvB2CPpdTMY, and how the conflict turned into the war of attrition in May (https://youtu.be/D-93q4GMFT0) and continued with Russia’s best month in June (https://youtu.be/SIm4mQihHdA). In the video dedicated to July – the 5th month of the war, we talked about the arrival of the HIMARS systems which strengthened Ukrainian positions and changed the war (https://youtu.be/WS0D0X8V6rg), while this video will focus on the events of August, as we will see how Russian logistics and manpower problems were worsened by the HIMARS strikes, the risk and intrigue around the Zaporizhia (Enerhodar) Nuclear Powerplant and the long expected beginning of the Ukrainian counter-offensive in Kherson (https://youtu.be/2hZoQ4xebGw). Previously we discussed the Kherson counteroffensive in the first 2 weeks of September and showed how the Ukrainian counteroffensive in Kharkiv Oblast – Balakliya-Izium counter-offensive succeeded, pushing the Russians across Oskil and Lyman (https://youtu.be/gJRjKuss_Co) In the second half of September, Ukraine liberated even more territory in Kherson (https://youtu.be/S7usqwT-ty4), while this video will talk about the events of the beginning of October, including the attack on the Crimean – Kerch bridge (https://youtu.be/i4gebic_Wnc). In the second half of October, positional and attritional warfare continued to dominate, still Ukraine managed to attack the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol and the Grain Deal was almost cancelled (https://youtu.be/wUAzOsvaX7k), while in the beginning of November, Ukraine finally liberated Kherson (https://youtu.be/sYr5mTNljN8). In the second half of November, winter took over, making the military operation more difficult (https://youtu.be/8r0JfS6WTWs), while in the first half of December, the stalemate continued (https://youtu.be/OOpew0MbJtg). In the second half of December and first half of January, Russia advanced around Bakhmut, taking Soledar (https://youtu.be/TmpWByOr6JQ), while in the second half of January, Russian regained initiative counterattacking on the Kreminna axis and gaining ground around Bakhmut, while the West announced that Ukraine will finally receive Leopard 2, Challenger 2 and Abrams tanks alongside more armoured vehicles (https://youtu.be/eoIbUUPCkKg). Next we will talk about the possible Russian attack vectors and deduce what is the Russian plan for winter and spring of 2023 (https://youtu.be/oOGgRgWzElA). In the first half of February, Russia continued advancing around Bakhmut, but its Vuhledar attack ended in a disaster (https://youtu.be/uazg6o-c1U4), while in the second half the battles around Bakhmut continued and it continued to hold (https://youtu.be/T19EjO6JTZM). In the beginning of March, the battles for Bakhmut and Avdiivka continued.

  1. To me it makes absolutely no sense to not use the highmark systems as they had said it cost too much yet if they know where 75% of the artillery is and it would completely stop The momentum of those animals then why not use them, if they would be able to keep that territory? That makes absolutely no sense to say that it cost too much to win a huge symbolic battle like that!

  3. Double standards on Taiwan????

    WHAT? That's what China thinks?

The US opened up trade with China during the Cold War with the concept of "peaceful reunification of Taiwan with China." China has consistently violated this concept with constant threats of forceful reunification. The terms stated that the US would officially recognize the CCP as the legitimate China, but that China could only reunify with Taiwan with SOFT peaceful persuasion. After Hongkong ended up getting treated like shit by China Taiwanese people have been quite sour on the idea. China is mad because they'll never peacefully get Taiwan.

The CCP has NEVER controlled Taiwan. The Republic of China when they had land on the mainland only controlled Taiwan for a year. Taiwan has been controlled by the mainland for only about a year in the last 120 years. China doesn't really have a legitimate claim to Taiwan anymore.

Ukraine signed a treaty with Russia in 1994 that reaffirmed the sovereignty of Ukraine and Ukraine's borders. It's almost 30 years later. Putin reaffirmed that he agreed with the treaty in the 00s. Russia has no legitimate claims on Ukraine.

Ukraine became a Soviet State in the Soviet Union in 1954. Russia is not the Soviet Union. That's WAY over 50 years ago. Taiwan has been in the form it is now since the late 1940s.

I don't consider territorial claims 50 plus years old legitimate.

  4. I agree with the general when he said to retreat Bakhmut for strategical reason, but if they leave now Moral to the Ukrainians will be at the all time low and Russian Moral will go up. Its bassicly Stalingrad but in modern times.

  5. Hey amazing video, I cannot imagine how much effort went into this! I would not use Bild as a source though because it has a bad reputation especially in Germany for being unserious and not trustworthy.

  6. oh please why would Ukraine care about a few bombed out villages They are pragmathists. Those cities are killing grounds for Russians. If they get their hands on them they can try and storm the next bastion up the road. 300.000 were called up in the draft So they need to kill 300.000 Not to mention the amount of troopes pinned down in one location while they are getting ready to go on the offensive

  7. I like this channel, but saying this war was unprovoked is false. The US, and the UK are fully responsible for this war, and the idiot Zedlinsky. Turkey, and China have tried to bring peace to Ukraine, but the US, and the UK turned any negotiations down. Russia needs Bakhmut for their offensive coming when the ground is harder. The real question is why no peace talks? Simply the US, and the UK are owned by the big private military contractors, big pharma, and digital money companies. Also they are part of the WEF, WHO, net green zero, and other globalist nut job organisations. I'm English and I'm ashamed of my government's actions, and they don't represent people like me. I'm against the war, but we are the enemy not Russia.

  8. But according to leaked document from pentagon about ukraine offensive it states that around 14 thousand russian died and around 80 k ukraine troops killed. and I also think 200k is a very large number and if russia is loosing 200 k men and more planes etc. without that much of western weapons then after this much tanks and other supports they can easily defeat russia…[ and thatswhy I do not believe these number because western media is no different from russian media both them use propoganda and hypocrisy.
