  1. I don't see how Europe can allow Ukraine to loose for their own safety. For 20yrs countries such as Germany, France and Italy have danced round Russia in a sycophantic manner hoping if they bought their oil and gas making themselves dependent upon Russia, that this would pacify Putin. Instead, Putin saw this as weak which is why in 2014 he annexed Crimea. The rest of the world sat there and watched punishing Russia by a few weak sanctions. It is no surprise that a few years later he sends his military back into Ukraine.
Rather than Nato or at least Europe reacting straight away we again sat there and watched in horror. Millions of Ukrainians now dead or refugees.
Ukraine is recognised as a sovereign country. If nato had been braver they could have been invited into Ukraine on a maneuver exercise. We could have stuck 500 troops in Ukraine the moment Putin said he wasn't going to attack.
This would have allowed putin to make a dignified withdrawal and the destruction of Ukraine would never have happened.
First rule of dealing with a bully, never show weakness. Something Macron in particular should learn.
Now we have the possibility of an even more fascist leader taking over Russia after Putin.
Being terrified of Russias nuclear weapons has stymied any bold thinking.
Only America and the US have made any real attempt to truly support Ukraine.

  2. "… Putin lives on a stream of lies, as it must be said, did most of his predecessors in the Kremlin, lies have always been a weapon in the Kremlin armoury … "
… meanwhile, we have the Tories …

  3. Also his claims of joining nato is up to Ukraine if we did our part to uphold the Budapest memorandum and gave Ukraine a guarantee on there independence back in 2014 we wouldn't be here today

  4. Russia has terrifying weapons therefore WHEN Putin uses them the response must be immediate and terrifyingly powerful. Anything less will simply allow him to keep pushing his narrative.

  5. Let Ukraine stay out of NATO, and Kremlin save face, but Russia secretly pays the war reparations and wear a gun against their head to allow free movement into sea of Azov.

  6. The price russia should pay for this war is the forfeiture of ALL its currently frozen foreign assets. The sanctions should also remain in place, indefinitely, until russia is no longer a threat, if necessary, for a decade or even longer – in which event everything should be added to the sanctions list & I do mean everything, including medical equipment/supplies.
The west needs to build a world economic forum that completely excludes russia.

  7. Hate to tell you… this is our fight. if successful in ukraine Putin has plans for OTHER countries. INCLUDING NATO members. Cheaper to help Ukranians stop him NOW than to fight Russians AND conscripted Ukranians later.

You CANNOT sign a treaty w country that does not honor them. They HAD guarantees already. iy was not worth the paper is written on.

This can ONLY end with Ukraine in NATO. NOTHING else can guarantee their safety

  8. The world needs to punish the Russian soldiers and government for the war crimes perpetrated.
Reparations need to be made to Ukraine from the Russian government.
Russia can not be seen to have gained territory in this totally illegal invasion.
