Putin is ensured of a continuing presidency, there will be no opposition from anybody. I suppose you can count on one hand, who will be phoning him with congratulations to celebrate his 'win'. However there is a very remote possibility that he receives a Novichok party cake from someone in the Kremlin gang who has been demoted. I wonder if Putin has employed a food taster lately.
Elections? If his win is guaranteed, and any opposition is arrested and jailed, who dares to run against him?
(Power struggle) Election… In my opinion, this will become a selection of the new puppet leader or a vessel to keep the power on check. It reminds me of Mevdev (IDK the spelling) the former president of russia. That time during the rise of annexation of Crimea he was the President that time right? then Putin was the PM. I heared from the international news outlet that Ex Pres. Mevdev (Sorry for the spelling) approved the annexation but there's someone acting as a brain of the approval and make it like a liberation operation to protect russian speakers against the Ukrainian Nationalist/Leftist.
