Punishments in the Congo Free State under Leopold II

The horrific atrocities that took place in the Congo Free State are often compared to the Holocaust, with king Leopold II of Belgium being compared to the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Between 1885 and 1908, Leopold II personally ruled the Congo, in sub Saharan Africa, which was largely unexplored at this time, as only the coastal areas had been claimed by other European countries. He named it the “Congo Free State,” which is rather ironic when you realise what went on there.
The local population was anything but free.

  1. It's always because there are some people who lick the boots of the invaders that the invaders win. Also don't tall me it's the fault of the "Muslims" here, even Muslim-majority countries have been invaded because of the boots-lickers.

  2. What do the “innocent” “pure-bred” save europe babies got to say about the absolutely savage albino gorillas that were their ancestors. Do they still think that all Europeans are and were pure laughs and joy worldwide, that it’s only black people who commit crime? My argument is perfectly planned out and CORRRECT, I am ready to taken on any mf that responds to this not agreeing with me

  3. Leopold didn’t technically run Congo under his title as King of Belgium. Instead, it was considered his own private property! He wasn’t acting as their king, but as their landlord. But of course, he demonstrates there is always much of a difference…

  4. There weren’t even this many people living in the Congo at the time, stupid. They’re primitive hunter-gatherers, and the jungle won’t support them.

Why do you believe this bullshit, w?

  5. It is just unthinkable that Congo remained Belgium rule after this, and no big revenge actions were taken. Maybe that’s why there were no major empires/civilization there in ancient time. The people there cannot unite and fight a battle together. They rather wait for their hand to be cut, not willing to use their fists against the colonizer. 10 million fists are far enough to overwhelm any guns.

  6. I am ashamed to say, I’ve NEVER heard about this. I don’t even remember hearing about this in high school, and I had AP History, for a year! This reminds me of have Christopher Columbus killed the Natives and he would kill them by cutting hands, testing knife skills on babies, starvation and more. Omg this makes me rethink EVERYTHING! It’s 2023 and to think this was only over 100years ago. Over rubber? Material matter equals money that equates to evil… God bless my people and people of color under the foot of Evil. 😨🙏🏾
