Prot Pally Preview – Insane Cooldown Uptime! [Dragonflight Beta]

Dragonflight comes out in less than a month! Protection Paladins have gone through some really interesting changes to their buffs and their core rotation. With the right talent setup, they are tankier than ever!

The rotation is still simple, but powerful, the cooldowns are strong, and they have extremely high uptime. Shield of the Righteous uptime is still at 100%, as well!

Protection Paladin is in great shape in Mythic+. It still works well in raids, and brings unique utility like Spellwarding and Final Stand. Find out about how much the class has changed with the new talent system at level 70 — Llarold has all the details!

By the way, our guild, Imperative, is recruiting serious raiders for Dragonflight. If you’re interested in day raiding, apply here: https://imperative.gg.

  1. Another great vid!

I don't really enjoy the dusk dawn playstyle. I find seal of clarity for the cost reduction can sometimes make it even clunkier – if you don't see the reduction pop up and charge to 3 HP now you're at 1 instead of 0 lol. But I do like seal without dusk dawn for sure.

Glad to hear some positive paladin talk!

  2. I honestly love Final Stand in M+. There are always those situations where something goes a bit wrong. Someone Chi Burst an extra pack on the train in Grim Rail (me yesterday) an being able to pop Divine Shield and not have to care about frontals, debuffs, hp, damage at all for 8 seconds is amazing. I can for 8 seconds fully commit my brain to just stabilizing the pull. I also bet there gonna be some BS way to abuse it in M+ 😛

  3. Yeah…..no. Splitting the baby between legion and SLs was a terrible decision. The design over all is shoddy as hell and the AS not generating HP is a shortsighted design they tried in SL and backtracked in the beta. It's a shit class design overall because they dont know what to do with the class because they dont want too many people playing them.

So much poor analysis of talents. Moment should never be taken. BoL…the list goes on
