  1. crazy amount of snow! Great watching you tackle it. Q: will the snow on the roof turn to ice when it rains, and if snow, will it push against the Solar Panels as it start melting and starts to slide off the roof. ?

  2. With the snow amount, it is like you need something even bigger to get the snow moved further away from the buildings.
I guess a small dozer is going to be in the works. At least for this year it would handy.
It is good to see your construction method held up to the snow load. I do wonder about the amount of water when this starts to melt. Will the drainage around the house be sufficient and will you get a lot for runoff drainage ditches cut into the property by nature.

  3. Proverbs 16:20-21

    King James Version

20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.

21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

  4. You got a lot of snow on your property. Looks cool, but I don’t envy the muddy muck you’ll be living with for quite a while.

It’s nice to see you’re finally blocking the walls. I hope you plan to do it all. I’ll bet you’ll notice the difference with how much better you retain heat in the shop! I’m kinda surprised it took you so long…well, no I’m really not! :o)

  5. Heath you are working way too hard on snow removal, you really need a snowblower for your Bobcat enabling you to blow the snow towards the bottom or lower section of your property closer to the road. Certainly hope you find a decent used unit before next winter as it will save you so much time and energy, could also be used to widen those 3 miles of road going to the kids school bus pick-up area in mid winter when the road has narrowed severely.

  6. JudithB Spring was about a month early, but now winter is back as I feared. The peaches are in full bloom, but at least the apple is holding off yet! Lots of cleanup to do before late April when the main garden should go in. Chicks are expensive, so I have put 9 New Hampshire eggs in the incubator and will add more eggs this week. The greenhouse is filling up with potted bareroot plants and lots of lettuce, chard, spinach and kale ready to be planted in the outside hoop beds. Ticks are out already too. Ugh!! I hope your snow melts slow enough not to flood your buildings.

  7. Heath, you ever think of turning your front yard into a snow storage pile. Its the perfect slope going down, cut in at the top of your parking area there and keep on dumping and dumping, over and over, make a little snow mtn. Anyway, just something I noticed while watching this episode. Great show.

  8. It certainly looks like Red Poppy Ranch could use some sort of snow shuffle for roofs that could be connected to a machine of vinch. Throw it up and drag it off sort of thing and in doing so drag of snow and loosen it up. šŸ˜€

  9. When you first got Ruby my parents got themselves a dog again as well. It is really funny, bc he is a brown lab (the working breed, not the show breed) mixed with some sort of bird dog and it always fills me with joy to see Ruby, she looks so much like my parents dog. The two of them being almost the same age just adds to that as well. She is such a cutie!
