Planning a cruise? Get The Ultimate Cruise Planner. It's a 47 page cruise travel planner with packing checklists, shore excursion planning forms and much more! ($10 off for a limted time). Details here: https://lifewellcruised.com/ultimate-cruise-planner/
My husband and I are first time cruisers. We got the Premiere Package and we’ll probably add on a couple of things. It’s our 20th anniversary and we’ve never taken a trip anywhere. I’m so excited!! Would you recommend the Chefs Table for our anniversary night or one of the specialty restaurants?
When a company that earns a profit in the billions of dollars starts whining they aren't making enough money so they have to be nit picky and charge guests for every little extra I find that horrendous. You know this profit is going directly into some fat cat's wallet it's not getting shared among the employees. The ships are licensed in foreign countries so they don't have to pay benefits, they force the employees to work 60 to 80 hours per week often times without a day off for weeks, god forbid 2 days off together. The crew is fed and housed in tiny windowless rooms but they have to pay exorbitant rates for mediocre wi-fi they have absolutely no job security and pretty much no rights. Meanwhile all the cruise lines are cutting staff which means the staff that get to keep their jobs have to pick up the slack so they're doing more work for the same amount of money and in some cases these people are only getting paid $400 a week! That's $400 for working 12 to 16 hours a day for 7 days! If anyone gets hurt or sick they're fired without any compensation. $60 a day for 4 days is $240, but that's on top of what you've already paid which can be $800 go $1500. It's seems sneaky, just increase the dang fairs and let everyone have whatever they want.
WOW….ok, we have booked 6 cruises before all these changes/ 3 are paid in full….isn't this a contract?/ so why/ how are they doing this to those who are paid in full?/ note/ keep up the great work!/ and video's
Like your family, I too am a fan of Princess. I usually have been getting the Princess Plus Package but now I am finding myself and my clients leaning toward the Princess Premier Package and it is because of the "unlimited group classes". On a weeklong cruise, 2 classes is not enough. Keep up the great work.
Sooner or later they will be empty again and start lowering prices and offering more for our money. I can wait.
WAAYY to complicated! Going back to all-inclusive resort
I've always been forced to be on Standard because no one drinks alcohol in my family of three. The gratuities and wifi just cannot justify the additional $180pp per day for us. There is no lesser package that would work for my family and I. Canadians will ALWAYS be in the Blue Lane at embarkation because we do not have our medallions until we reach the port. What is the point of booking the packages in my case then?
We purchased the Plus package on our last cruise and ended up paying an additional amount for premium wines. We did the math and the Premium package seemed worth it. Especially when you consider the free photos.
Not saling Princess
Princess Plus is worth it for the gratuities, WiFi and drinks alone. But, I don’t think places like Giovanni’s should incur a charge for anyone on Standard.
This will be my first Princess Cruise. My family and I normally go on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean. My mother and I are looking forward to our upcoming Princess Cruise and have purchased the premier package. I hope it will be worth it!!!
Hi and thank you so much for all your hard work giving us such great videos. I just wanted to throw out one comment on the new casual dining on Princess. We are booked for 32 day trans Pacific cruise and we have plus package. So, we now are privileged to get two visits to Alfredos included in 32 days. If you sail one week, you get two visits. We pay for one month of plus and get what people paying one week get. Shame on you Princess, why would you "hurt" your loyal customers that have committed one month and $20,000 to you? We are contemplating cancelling, but for sure, this will be our last Princess cruise as we now feel abused. Something so small can really make you feel differently. Just price the cruise fairly and stop trying to grab more dollars after the fact. Thanks for listening. I just wanted to throw it out there as you are so knowledgeable. You don't have to write back to me, oh geez, guessing I am venting. Thanks Alana, you are terrific.
is there an extra charge for a different medallion, other than the standard lanyard which everyone gets, for suite guests with a premier package?
and are gratuities for suite guests with a premier package included?
Can just one person pay for the privilege of using the medallion app to order on demand food to more than one person in a cabin or must each person in the cabin pay to use the on demand ordering system?
Ilana, thank you for the update on the Princess package changes. Will be cruising for the first time this December & we booked the Regal Princess Plus package.
So much to learn before the cruise. I am a little confused about what are included & what are not. Maybe you can help clarify my understanding. Will drinks & desserts order at the casualty & specialty restaurants count towards the 15 drinks & 2 specialty desserts pp per day on the Plus package? 😊
We will book standard because we do not use wifi while on vacation, room service, fitness classes, we only book one specialty dining on every cruise we go on and do not drink alcohol. For our first cruise on Princess we will make sure to add additional money to our account and pay for what we want.
We have just cancelled 2 cruises already paid for. PRINCESS SUCKS….
To get the latest changes I had to pay $29 per person. To update from the old premier to the new premier, yesterday on a call to answer my question for our cruise coming up in September.
We take the Plus package
